WRC – ITALY RALLY – COSTA SMERALDA – 18 TO 21 OCTOBER
From 18 to 21 October ’12
The Italian stage of the WRC has always been one of the crucial points of the season, with challenging stages and crowds of enthusiastic fans.
Until 2004, the event was held in the city of Sanremo on the Mediterranean Sea coast.
In 2004 the rally has gone in the picturesque scenery of Sardinia Gallura in the north of the island. A whole new path, which allowed the event to not lose its charm, attracting competitors and spectators in large numbers.
The stages in Sardinia are characterized by the beautiful nature of the terrain, unspoiled and varied. Although they are predominantly fast and narrow paths, the terrain is a mixture of open spaces and streets through rolling woodlands, with sprays of water and spectacular jumps.
Normally the surface is hard with stones scattered around the path. However, some parts of the route are on softer ground and may be subject to changes during heavy rainfall.
