WAITING FOR THE EVENING…CONCERT AT SUNSET – EXMA’ – FROM AUGUST 2

All’ExMa ‘(via San Lucifer), where he staged “Mark the wind, with the eyes of the mind”, the exhibition of sculptures by Anna Saba designed with the aim of bringing the artistic beauty of the blind and visually impaired , the music relies on Thursday, August 2 (tickets 15 euros) to the American Jeff Lorber Fusion with its captivating blend of jazz, elements of rock, R & B, funk and electric sounds, keyboardist, composer and producer, a prominent figure fusion since the late seventies, Jeff Lorber arrives in Cagliari with three fellow travelers such as Eric Marienthal (sax), Jimmy Haslip (bass) and Gary Novak (drums).
Seven days later (Thursday, 9, tickets € 10) is the turn of the quintet led by pianist Luca Mannutza Cagliari: rhythm, swing, personal invention, and the classic bop sound of the band with saxophone and trumpet – spoon fed respectively by Paolo and Francesco Recchia slowly – and with rhythmic button Fattorini Luca on bass and Marcello Di Leonardo on drums.

Fusion and smooth jazz saxophonist has numerous collaborations with musicians of international renown.
His professional career began in 1980 with the famous trumpeter Al Hirt New Orlins, after he joined the Chick Corea Elektric Band with whom he recorded 2 albums with 8 of which have won Grammy Awards dela.
He has played with many artists: Elton John, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, Aaron Neville, Johnny Mathis, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour, David Benoit, The Rippingtons, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, Patti Austin, Lou Rawls, David Lee Roth, The Yellowjackets, BB King, Ramsey Lewis, Patti LaBelle, Olivia Newton-John.
Jimmy Haslip
American bassist and record producer.
He is known for being one of the founding members of the fusion group Yellowjackets and for being one of the first bassists to use a 5-string bass. It also has the distinction of playing bass with the strings reversed, that is more acute with the rope up and down the rope more serious.
Gary Novak
It ‘was born and raised in Chicago and was trained in jazz clubs (in Chicago), playing with his father, Larry Novak, piano jazz, and other famous jazz musicians such as Buddy DeFranco, Joe Williams and Milt Hinton. At age 19 he moved to Los Angeles where he got to play with Maynard Ferguson and starting a career as a session musician for artists such as David Sanborn and Anita Baker.
In the 90s the fame and the technique of Gary Novak grow further, bringing his unique drumming to accompany the likes of Lee Ritenour, George Benson and Chick Corea, Alanis Morrissette, and until, today, Eros Ramazzotti.
