VAMP – EXMA ‘ – CAGLIARI – 25 GENNAIO -28 LUGLIOVAMP – EXMA’ – CAGLIARI – JANUARY 25 TO JULY 28

Venerdì 25 gennaio alle ore 18.30, nel Centro Comunale d’Arte e Cultura Exmà di Cagliari, inaugura Vamp, la rassegna d’arte contemporanea, curata da Giacomo Pisano, prodotta dal Consorzio Camù e realizzata in collaborazione con il Comune di Cagliari ed ECCOM, il Centro Europeo per l’Organizzazione e il Management Culturale.
Un’iniziativa che prosegue idealmente la precedente esperienza di AltrArte, programmata sempre nella Sala della Torretta dal 2007 al 2010, e che si pone in linea con il progetto comunale di dedicare l’Exmà all’arte contemporanea.

LA RASSEGNA
VAMP è l’acronimo di la Vera Arte Muove le Persone, ma anche diminutivo di vampiro, figura ambigua usata come metafora del mondo dell’arte assetato di creatività e stimoli sempre nuovi. Fotografia, street art, grafica, pittura, installazioni sono i linguaggi artistici con cui Vamp racconta in 7 percorsi differenti il modo originale di fare arte di alcuni tra i più innovativi, giovani e capaci artisti sardi. Si tratta di due personali, una di apertura e l’altra di chiusura alla rassegna, tre bipersonali e due collettive. L’iniziativa prende spunto da alcuni aspetti contrastanti del modo di fare e proporre arte ai giorni nostri. «Se da un lato assistiamo ad un discreto proliferare di iniziative a favore dei giovani non possiamo fare a meno di constatare che scelte e proposte sono spesso dettate da ragioni che esulano dagli aspetti artistici e si concentrano piuttosto su motivazioni di tipo commerciale o volutamente provocatorio, alla ricerca di quel sensazionalismo di cui non sentiamo la reale necessità. Da qui anche la scelta di giocare con l’acronimo VAMP, diminutivo di vampiro, una creatura ambigua, che oggi assume aspetti e significati lontani dal tenebroso conte Dracula, e che in luogo del sangue cerca vitalità nella creatività più sotterranea. Ma anche l’artista stesso è vampirizzato da un sistema che fagocita e produce arte esattamente come articoli di supermercato» – sottolinea il curatore Giacomo Pisano.

La rassegna rimarrà aperta sino a domenica 28 luglio.

PROGRAMMA
Ad inaugurare l’evento sarà Skan, in mostra dal 25 gennaio al 10 febbraio. Dal 15 febbraio sino al 10 marzo sarà visitabile la bipersonale di Fabio Piccioni e Diamante Murru. Dal 15 marzo al 7 aprile le protagoniste dell’iniziativa saranno Geep e Ilaria Gorgoni. Dal 12 aprile al 5 maggio esporranno Manu Invisible e Laura Tarty. Seguirà una mostra collettiva fotografica su le Nuove Tipologie di Ritratto dal 10 maggio al 2 giugno e l’altra mostra collettiva di bacinelle d’artista, Piove a catinelle, sarà visitabile dal 7 al 30 giugno. Chiuderà la rassegna Francesco Liori, in mostra dal 5 al 28 luglio.

Friday, January 25th at 18:30 in the Municipal Center for Art and Culture Exmà of Cagliari, opens Vamp, the contemporary art exhibition, curated by James Pisano, produced by the Consortium Camu and organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Cagliari and ECCOM, The European Centre for Cultural Organisation and Management.
An initiative that continues ideally previous experience of AltrArte, always programmed in the Hall of the Tower from 2007 to 2010, and that is in line with the municipal project to dedicate the Exmà contemporary art.

THE REVIEW
VAMP stands for the True Art Moves the People, but also short for vampire, ambiguous figure used as a metaphor for the art world thirsty for creativity and always new stimulation. Photography, street art, graphic design, painting, installations are artistic languages which tells Vamp in 7 different paths the original way of making art of some of the most innovative, young and capable Sardinian artists. These are two personal, an opening and closing the other of the review, three bipersonal and two collective. The project was inspired by some contrasting aspects of how to make art and to propose to the present day. “While we are witnessing a proliferation of discrete initiatives for young people can not help but note that choices and proposals are often dictated by reasons that are beyond the artistic aspects and concentrate rather on grounds of commercial or deliberately provocative, looking for that sensationalism which we hear the real need. Hence also the choice of playing with the acronym VAMP, short for vampire, a creature ambiguous, now takes away from the dark aspects and meanings Count Dracula, and that instead of looking for blood in the creative vitality more underground. But even the artist himself is sucked by a system that absorbs and produces art just like supermarket product “- says the curator James Pisano.

The exhibition will remain open until Sunday, July 28.

PROGRAM
To inaugurate the event will Skan, on display from 25 January to 10 February. From February 15 until March 10 will be open to two-person Fabio Piccioni and Diamond Murru. From March 15 to April 7, the protagonists of the initiative will Ilaria Gorgons and jeep. From 12 April to 5 May exhibit Manu Invisible and Laura tarty. Followed by a photographic exhibition of the New Types of Portrait from May 10 to June 2, and the other group exhibition of bowls of artist’s raining cats and dogs, will run June 7 to 30. Francesco Liori close the show, showcasing July 5 to 28.
