TREKKING SUL MONTE ARCUENTU E DEGUSTAZIONE DI BIRRE E PECORINO – SABATO 5 APRILE 2014TREKKING IN ARCUENTU MOUNTAIN AND TASTING BEER AND PECORINO – SATURDAY AVRIL 5,2014

Il 5 Aprile 2014 Sardinia Tourist Guide organizza un bellissimo trek sulle Creste di Monte Arcuentu sino a m 784, uno dei massicci del periodo cenozoico di origine vulcanica più maestosi della Sardegna.

Il monte è quasi totalmente basaltico ma in alcune zone affiorano dei tufi

Il percorso di circa 7 km a/r su sterrata e sentiero agevole, con 400 mt di dislivello totali, permette di godere di viste bellissime sulla Costa Verde, dove è stabile la presenza del cervo sardo.

Sulla cime del monte sopravvive ancora un bosco primario di lecci e vi troveremo i ruderi del castello giudicale di Arculentu del X sec, parte della rete di manieri che difendevano il Giudicato di Arborea.

Sulla cime sono state trovate lucerne a tazzina ed a conchiglia di origine punica, nonchè un nascondiglio contenente numerose monete romane.

Alle pendici invece sorgeva l’insediamento romano di Tzei, dove è stata rinvenuto un insediamento ed una necropoli.

Lungo la salita/discesa troveremo una via crucis con delle belle decorazioni su piastra di bronzo.

Sulla vetta è presente anche un santuario dedicato alla Vergine..

Per 30 anni consecutivi Fra Nazareno si ritirò sulla cime del monte per un mese all’anno per pregare in solitudine..l’ultima volta nel 1987, già anziano e provato, si ritirò quassù per quindici giorni, come ricorda il pannello posto davanti ad un altarino dedicato a Nostra Signora di Arcuentu.

Arrivati alle macchine faremo anche una piccola tappa nell’azienda Casearia Funtanazza, dei fratelli Lampis, dove potremo gustare e comprare il prelibato pecorino di pecora nera di Arbus, una razza che si riproduce unicamente in questa zona da millenni.

Al termine della visita in azienda ci dirigeremo nei pressi di Montevecchio dove da poco è nato il Birrificio 4 mori (http://www.birrificio4mori.it/), che ha come sede un vecchio edificio minerario.. in questa atmosfera d’altri tempi, per chi la ama, potremo capire come nasce la birra artigianale e degustare la produzione locale..”bionda o rossa”!

The mountain is almost entirely basaltic outcrop but in some areas of the tuffs

The distance of about 7 km / r on dirt and easy path , with total elevation gain of 400 meters , you can enjoy beautiful views of the Costa Verde, where is the stable presence of the Sardinian deer .

On top of the mountain survives a primary forest of oaks and you will find the ruins of the castle of the Judicial Arculentu of the tenth century , the network of castles defending the Judge of Arborea.

On the peaks were found in lucerne cup and shell Punic origin , as well as a cache containing many Roman coins.

On the slopes instead stood the Roman settlement of Tzei , where it was found a settlement and a necropolis .

Along the climb / descent will find a Way of the Cross with beautiful decorations on bronze plate .

On the top there is also a shrine to the Virgin ..

For 30 consecutive years, among the Nazarene retired on top of the mountain for a month every year to pray in solitude .. the last time in 1987 , already old and tried , he retired up here for a fortnight , as noted by the panel at front an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Arcuentu .

Once the machines we will also play a small part in company Dairy Funtanazza , brothers Lampis , where we can taste and buy the delicious pecorino black sheep of Arbus , a race which breeds only in this area for thousands of years .

At the end of the visit on the farm we drive near where Montevecchio recently Brewery was born on 4 mori ( http://www.birrificio4mori.it/ ) , whose headquarters an old mining building .. in this atmosphere of times , for those who love it , we can understand how does the beer and taste the local produce .. ” blonde or red ” !
