TREKKING ALLA GOLA DI GORROPPU – DOMENICA 5 MAGGIOTREKKING IN THE GORROPPU CANYON – SUNDAY MAY 5

Con www.sardiniatouristguide.it e www.sardegnaitinerari.it , il 5 Maggio 2013 potrete visitare uno dei monumenti naturali più belli e famosi della Sardegna, il Canyon di Gorroppu.

Partenza in Minibus o mezzo propri, verso le ore 0730 per arrivare nella valle di Oddoene. Dopo aver passato un piccolo ponte sul Rio Flumineddu, inizia il nostro facile trek di avvicinamento, di circa 5 km, in un sentiero con poca pendenza e una vegetazione bellissima e piuttosto fitta che permette di arrivare a ridosso della gola praticamente sempre all’ombra.All’interno di Gorropu, l’escursione procede nell’alveo abbandonato del fiume, che oggi continua a scorrere sotto terra riemergendo solo a tratti e nella sorgente all’ingresso della gola. Il percorso aumenta di difficoltà solo nella parte finale della gola, una volta superato il punto in cui le pareti raggiungono il maggior dislivello; questo consente di visitare senza troppe difficoltà la parte più interessante e spettacolare del Canyon. Al rientro dalla camminata, se il tempo lo permetterà fare un bel bagno rinfrescante nelle pozze dove scorre l’acqua del Flumineddu.

L’antica leggenda racconta che un giorno il Dio decise di salvare i pastori di Urzulei dalle frequenti scorrerie dei balentes orgolesi. Con un fulmine quindi divise in due il Supramonte: da una parte la Barbagia e dall’ altra Ogliastra.
Al centro di queste un’orrida fenditura di roccia dove non passavano nè uomini nè animali ma solo gli spiriti dei banditi e delle animas malas, coloro cui la sorte non concesse di morrer in su lettu, “morire nel proprio letto”. (Racconto estrapolato da Leggende sarde di Grazia Deledda.)

All’interno della gola, per chi voglia esplorarla a fondo,ci sono dei piccoli passaggi in arrampicata su massi alti 1 metro e mezzo circa.

With www.sardiniatouristguide.it and www.sardegnaitinerari.it, May 5, 2013 you can visit one of the most beautiful and famous natural monuments of Sardinia, the Gorroppu Canyon.

Check in Minibus or half its at about 0730 hours to arrive in the valley of Oddoene. After passing a small bridge over the Rio Flumineddu start our trek easy of approach, about 5 km, in a path with little slope and a beautiful and rather dense vegetation that will take you close to the throat almost always in the shade. Within Gorropu, the tour proceeds nell’alveo abandoned the river, which today continues to flow underground and re-emerging only occasionally in the source at the entrance of the gorge. The course increases in difficulty only in the final part of the throat, once you pass the point where the walls reach the greatest height difference, and this allows you to visit without too much difficulty the most interesting and spectacular Canyon. After returning from the walk, if time permits take a refreshing swim in the pools where the water of the Flumineddu.

The ancient legend tells that one day God decided to save the shepherds of Urzulei by frequent raids of balentes Orgosolo. With lightning then divided into two Supramonte: on one hand the Barbagia and the ‘other Nuoro.
At the center of these horrid cleft rock where not passed neither men nor animals, but only the spirits of the bandits and animas malas are those whose fate is not granted to morrer up rea, “to die in his own bed.” (Story taken from sardines Legends of Grazia Deledda.)

Inside the throat, for those who want to explore it thoroughly, there are small steps in climbing tall obstacles one meter and a half.
