Manuela Mameli and the Lindy Hop Quartet presenta un un tributo a ELLA FITZGERALD

Ella Jane Fitzgerald Nota anche come Lady Ella e First Lady of Song è considerata una delle migliori e più influenti cantanti jazz della storia. Vincitrice di tredici Grammy, vantava un’estensione vocale di più di tre ottave e una grande capacità di improvvisazione soprattutto nello scat, una tecnica vocale tipica del jazz di cui è considerata la maggiore esponente di tutti i tempi.. Ella, la regina dello scat, dalla fine degl’anni ’30 fino alla fine degl’anni ’80, ci regalò la sua voce interpretando una grandissima varietà di forme del jazz: dallo standard jazz al blues, dalla bossanova al calypso. Sarà un piacere ascoltare le canzoni che sono state rese celebri dalla First Lady of Song interpretate dalla raffinatissima voce di Manuela Mameli.

Janis Lyn Joplin Divenne nota verso la fine degli anni sessanta come cantante del gruppo Big Brother and the Holding Company, e successivamente per i suoi lavori da solista. La sua carriera continuò fino alla morte per overdose all’età di 27 anni. La rivista americana Rolling Stone la pone al 46º posto della lista dei 100 artisti più importanti della storia e al 28º della classifica del 2008 dei 100 cantanti più importanti di tutti i tempi.
Riconosciuta e ricordata per l’intensità delle sue interpretazioni, nel 1995 è stata inserita nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame e nel 2005 è stata insignita del Grammy Award alla carriera

Nata a Memphis e trasferitasi a Chicago in giovane età, Koko Taylor è un altro dei cavalli di razza che permisero alla Chess di rimanere la prima casa discografica blues negli anni sessanta. Dotata di una voce straordinariamente grintosa e tonante, ma al tempo stesso duttile, la Taylor in oltre quarant’anni di carriera ha raccolto una serie impressionante di premi e riconoscimenti che l’hanno consacrata come la più importante artista blues della sua generazione. la corona di “regina del blues”, è oggi saldamente sulla testa di Koko Taylor che, con la sua incredibile voce, continua a rappresentare i blues che vorremmo sempre sentire.

Una serata dedicata alla fantastica Miss Peaches.
Jamesetta Hawkins, in arte Etta James, vincitrice di quattro Grammy Award e di diciassette Blues Music Awards, 39 album, quasi 60 anni di carriera!! è stata inserita nella Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nel 1993, nella Blues Hall of Famenel 2001 e nella Grammy Hall of Fame sia nel 1999 che nel 2008.[1] Negli anni cinquanta e sessanta ha inciso i suoi maggiori successi di brani blues e R&B. È conosciuta per aver lanciato il brano At Last, che è stato inserito in film,trasmissioni televisive, spot pubblicitari e pagine web in streaming service e per essere stato reinterpretato da artisti come Christina Aguilera e Beyoncè. Sarà un grande piacere ed onore per noi proporvi alcuni dei suoi brani e reinterpretazioni dei classici del blues!

Ella Jane Fitzgerald Also known as Lady Ella and the First Lady of Song is considered one of the best and most influential jazz singers in history. Winner of thirteen Grammy, boasted an extension voice of more than three octaves and a great ability to improvise especially in the scat, a vocal technique typical of jazz which is considered the greatest exponent of all time .. She, the queen of scat, degl’anni the late ’30s until the late ’80s degl’anni, gave us his voice interpreting a wide variety of forms of jazz, from jazz standards to blues, from bossa nova to calypso. It will be a pleasure to listen to songs that were made famous by the First Lady of Song interpreted by the refined voice of Manuela Mameli.
