The land of sad oranges and Other Stories is a collection made up of ten short stories written between 1956 and 1962. For years, mark Ghassan Kanafani whose life story is representative of the Palestinian Diaspora, the struggle for survival in the resistance against the occupation and for the return. In these stories Kanafani outlines the various aspects of the Palestinian tragedy: the ethnic cleansing, the daily drama of life as refugees, memory broken, the will to reagire.Come reveals the same Kanafani, the story that gives the title to the collection, Earth oranges sad, is autobiographical in the sense that it describes the exodus that was forced with his family. Fragments of a story that the writer lives in the first person, these stories are a path to a political awareness which brings to Palestine.

Ghassan Kanafani (1936 Р1972), journalist, writer, spokesman for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was killed at thirty-six in a terrorist attack claimed by the Israeli secret service. Considered the founder of the short story in Arabic, is the author of short stories, novels, essays, literary and political, pi̩ce theater and radio plays.
