SUMMER FESTIVAL PROCESSION AND THE SEA MADONNA OF BONARIA – SUNDAY JULY 1

Tomorrow, Sunday, July 1, Summer Festival is held in honor of Our Lady of Bonaria, with the ritual procession to the sea of the statue of the Madonna. The tradition began in 1866 when a group of Sardinian youth, veterans of the Battle of Custoza (Third War of Independence), he wanted to thank Our Lady of Bonaria, for having saved. In the afternoon, after attending Mass, thousands of devotees leave from the Basilica accompanying the statue of the Madonna to the port.
