Tony Levin is an American bassist and stickista.
He has played with artists such as James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Yes (Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe), Andy Summers, Liquid Tension Experiment, Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Dire Straits, Claudio Baglioni, Joan Armatrading, Alice Cooper, Seal, David Bowie, Carly Simon, Ivano Fossati, California Guitar Trio, Sarah McLachlan, Kevin Max, Paul Simon, Michael Schenker Group and many others, also some Italian children. Known for its innovative approach to low, Levin was among the pioneers of the use of the electric bass and Chapman Stick as well as the creator of a technique for playing bass with chopsticks known as funk fingers [1].
Levin is a bass player with an excellent reputation, known for the way it combines great musicianship with a great sense of groove, a good dose of humor and a relentless passion. The general public knows the bottom of the catchy song Sledgehammer Peter Gabriel Levin’s name is also associated with King Crimson.
In addition to working on albums by other artists, Levin has produced some solo albums (Waters of Eden, Pieces of the Sun, Resonator), and a live behalf Double Espresso.
Pat Mastelotto
Founding member of Mr. Mister has worked with Cock Robin, Scandal, Al Jarreau, Pointer Sisters, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, XTC, Hall & Oates, The Rembrandts, Björk.
In 1993 he proposed to Robert Fripp on his tour with David Sylvian. After this Fripp asked him to enter the new King Crimson. The technical challenges that the group suggests they did significantly increase its capacity so as to consider it a virtuous battery life, thanks to the collaboration, which lasted two years, with Bill Bruford.
In parallel with King Crimson continued activity session man (Tina Arena, Hector Zazou), but focused mainly on experimental projects (Chew, ProjeKct X, BPM & M, TU, KTU) often appeared with Trey Gunn. He also released an album of only percussion with Terry Bozzio.
