A Swedish band, The Pain Of Salvation, three sardines: Arhythmia, and Terrorway Lightless Moor. With these names you complete the program of Steel Day, the great night of rock and metal held in Cagliari, Friday, June 27, at the Arena Sant’Elia. A billboard in which, as previously announced, the outstanding presence of an education dear to fans of the genre, Soulfly, expected protagonists of Vox Day organized by the cooperative as a preview of the eighth edition of Karel Music Expo, a festival of music and resistant culture is planned for October.
It will be up to the task of training the island’s dense open the ladder of Steel Day at 20. Founded in 2004, Alghero Arhythmia (Richard Drinkers and Matthew Lombardo on guitars, Michael Canu on vocals, Luke Brown on bass and drums Nicolas Salis) are an alternative-metal band among the most active in the underground scene regionally and nationally. Three albums released: the last one, “Time not coming Back” (2013), has led them to tour Europe as a special guest of the U.S. Biohazard.
They come instead from the Terrorway San Gavino Monreale (Valentino “Sidh” Casarotti: voice, Ivan Fois: guitar, John Serra: low; Cosma Secchi: drums), training work from 2009, which last year gave her sound aggressive and powerful, with a refined taste for melodies, with nine tracks of “Blackwater”, debut album, “full length”, recorded in Cagliari at the Corpse Factory Studio, and mixed and mastered by Jacob Olsen (Hatesphere, Moonspell) at JBO Sound Studio .
Play at home the third group Sardinian Cagliari, the Lightless Moor (Ilaria Hawks: item; Federico Mura: vocals and guitar; Alberto Mannucci Pacini: guitar, Edward Fanni: keyboards; Joseph Siddle: low; Stefano Spanu: drums) formed in 2005 when the singer Ilaria Hawks decides to carry out his plan to create a gothic metal band with a personal interpretation of the canons of the genre. A project that, after several changes of staff and the first self-produced demo in 2012 led debut album “Crying My Grief to a Feeble Dawn – The Poem.”
With Pain Of Salvation Arena the evening of 27 June St. Elias will come alive. The formation arrived in the Swedish capital of Sardinia, on only for Italy, with his sound from prog metal contamination stoner, characterized by rhythmic powerful, solid carpet of guitars, great timbre and vocal range, constant use of backing vocals and keyboards, rapid rhythm changes and polyrhythmic experimentation. Leading the band, in business since 1991 (although the origins go back to seven years), it is its founder Daniel Gildenlöw, guitarist and main voice and the author of all texts. With him on the stage of Sant’Elia there will be Ragnar Zolberg on guitar, Daniel Karlsson on keyboards, Gustaf Hielm Léo Margarit on bass and drums.
Then the scene will be all for Soulfly, Sardinia for the first time ever and the only Italian stop after the one that will bring them the previous evening in Rome. At the head of the group coming from the United States, one of the most representative figures of modern metal: lead singer and guitarist Max Cavalera, former co-founder (in 1984) and frontman of Sepultura. Brazilian by birth, Italian-born and transplanted some time in the U.S., in 1997, gave birth to Soulfly, that last fall they fired their ninth album, “Savages.”
