Alla scoperta del cosmo sorseggiando un caffè

Sabato 15 giugno, dalle ore 16:30, presso il locale Sette Vizi di Cagliari (Mediateca del Mediterraneo, Via Mameli 164/F) si terrà l’ultimo science café dei “Dialoghi di Scienza”, rassegna di appuntamenti promossa da Sardegna Ricerche con il contributo dell’Assessorato alla Programmazione. Il tema di discussione sarà lo spazio: tra fascino dell’esplorazione e nuove tecnologie proveremo a capire come è cambiato lo studio del cosmo negli ultimi anni.

Da sempre l’uomo rivolge lo sguardo verso le stelle, provando a capire i segreti dell’Universo e delle Galassie che ci circondano. Per farlo, oggi ci serviamo di strumenti potentissimi, come il radiotelescopio di San Basilio, vicino a Cagliari.
Ma fra passeggiate marziane, nuovi studi su pulsar doppie e asteroidi che ci sfiorano, quali sono oggi le nuove frontiere dell’astrofisica? Cosa stiamo per scoprire?

Discuteranno di questi argomenti Andrea Possenti, direttore dell’INAF – Osservatorio Astronomico di Cagliari e ricercatore INAF e Stefano Giovanardi, curatore scientifico del Planetario di Roma.

Saturday, June 15, at 16:30, at the local Seven Vices of Cagliari (Media in the Mediterranean, Via Mameli 164 / F) will be held on the last science cafés of the “Dialogues of Science”, a series of events promoted by Sardegna Ricerche with the contribution of the programming. The topic of discussion will be the space: charm between exploration and new technologies we will try to understand how the study of the cosmos has changed in recent years.

People have always turns to look at the stars, trying to understand the secrets of the universe and galaxies that surround us. To do so, today, we use powerful tools such as the telescope of St. Basil, near Cagliari.
But among Martian walks, new studies of double pulsars and asteroids that we touch, what are the new frontiers of astrophysics? What we are going to find out?

Will discuss these topics Andrea Possenti, Director of INAF – Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari and researcher INAF and Stefano Giovanardi, scientific curator of the Planetarium of Rome.
