Quest’ anno la raccolta fondi sarà destinata al progetto di ActionAid “Approccio integrato per la riduzione della violenza sulle donne in Afghanistan”

La maggioranza delle donne in Afghanistan ha subito violenza nella sua vita: psicologica (umiliazioni, limitazioni della libertà, divieti, minacce); fisica (maltrattamenti, abusi di ogni tipo); economica (divieto di lavorare fuori casa, nessun accesso alle risorse economiche della famiglia). Sono inoltre diffuse pratiche tradizionali come matrimoni precoci e forzati, delitti d’onore, obbligo di sposare il proprio stupratore, uso delle donne come oggetto di scambio, che rappresentano un pericolo per la vita e la salute delle donne. Le violenze vedono spesso come protagonisti i familiari della vittima: mariti, padri, fratelli e per questo le donne si sentono ancora più fragili e non sanno a chi rivolgersi. I responsabili godono sovente di immunità e copertura, a causa di una cultura che crede prevalentemente nella superiorità dell’uomo sulla donna e non rispetta i diritti sanciti dalla legge. Nelle comunità è diffusa la convinzione che la violenza domestica sia un fatto privato e che non se ne debba parlare né si debba intervenire.
ActionAid ha rilevato che i sistemi di sostegno alle donne vittime della violenza come l’assistenza medica, sociale, psicologica o legale sono scarsi e a volte non esistenti.
L’unica istituzione governativa esistente che se ne occupa è rappresentata dagli uffici provinciali del Ministero per le Donne che però non hanno né le capacità né le competenze sufficienti per rispondere ai bisogni delle vittime della violenza. Alle donne afghane è negata la possibilità di un presente e di un futuro sereno, un’istruzione e un lavoro che possano contribuire alla loro stabilità.

L’obiettivo del progetto di ActionAid a cui è finalizzata la raccolta fondi del Concerto è quello di contribuire alla riduzione della violenza contro le donne in Afghanistan favorendone l’accesso alla giustizia, tramite servizi di protezione legale ed assistenza sociale.

This year ‘s fundraising will be devoted to the project of ActionAid “An integrated approach for the reduction of violence against women in Afghanistan”

The majority of women in Afghanistan has suffered violence in her life: psychological (humiliation, limited freedom, prohibitions, threats), physical (ill-treatment, abuse of all kinds), economic (prohibition of work outside the home, no access to economic resources of the family). They are also widely used traditional practices such as early and forced marriages, honor killings, the obligation to marry their rapist, use of women as objects of exchange, which represent a danger to the life and health of women. The violence often seen as protagonists the victim’s family: husbands, fathers, brothers, and that’s why women feel even more fragile and do not know where to turn. Managers often enjoy immunity and coverage, due to a culture that believes in the superiority of men over women mainly and does not respect the rights enshrined in law. In the community there is a widespread belief that domestic violence is a private matter and that we do not need to talk or need to intervene.
ActionAid found that support systems for women victims of violence such as medical, social, psychological or legal are scarce and sometimes non-existent.
The only existing government institution that takes care of is represented by the provincial offices of the Ministry for Women, however, have neither the capacity nor the skills sufficient to meet the needs of victims of violence. Afghan women are denied the possibility of a present and a bright future, an education and a job that can contribute to their stability.

The objective of the project is the goal to which ActionAid’s fundraising concert is to contribute to the reduction of violence against women in Afghanistan facilitating access to justice by means of legal protection services and social assistance.
