SARDINIA INTERNATIONAL ETHNOGRAPHIC FILM FESTIVAL – NUORO – 15 TO 23 SEPTEMBER

From 15 to 23 September 2012 will be held in Nuoro Sardinia International Ethnographic Film Festival (SIEFF), the International Festival of Ethnographic Film Festival organized by the Institute of Ethnography of Sardinia.
This year, which marks the thirty years of the festival, in addition to competition divided into the usual four awards, propose a series of events dedicated to the history of the event with the presence of the most important authors who over the years have participated in the Festival.
Since 2006, the Festival has changed its traditional characterization monothematic focusing its program on the selection of documentaries recently made ethno-anthropological perspective, with special attention to those works that focus on issues related to the representation of contemporary life.

The works selected for the official program will compete for the following awards:

A. Prize “Grazia Deledda” for best picture;
B. Prize for best film and produced in Mediterranean countries;
C. Prize for the best film by a Sardinian;
D. Prize for the most innovative film.

Apart from films in competition the Festival will also present films out of competition.
The film will be accompanied by a brief presentation and commented on and discussed with the authors.
Screenings, panel discussions and interventions will be served by simultaneous translations in Italian and English.
A selection of the winning film will be presented in other cities of Sardinia.

In order to participate in the selection you must complete and send the appropriate online registration form available on this site.
The same form must be printed, signed and sent to the following address: SIEFF 2012, Regional Ethnographic Institute, Via Papandrea, 6 – 08100 Nuoro. The card will be also attached:
– Three copies of DVD movies
– Two photographs from the film;
– A photograph of the
(All photographs must be in TIFF or JPG with the longest side of at least 13 cm and a resolution of 300 dpi);
– The file in Word format of the biography / filmography of 10/15 lines;
– The file in Word format dialogs and / or commentary of the film in one of the languages for simultaneous translation.
