* A few quick words about Sabar

The dance takes its name from the musical instrument percussion, the SABAR.Originario of Senegal, griots used by families, the Wolof people, is played with one hand and a long wooden stick or just with your hands.

The instrument actually is not unique, but there are at least seven different types with different functions.

The most important are: the MBAG, sabar accompanying the NDErs, solo sabar, sabar accompanying the Lamb down the Goros babas, sabar for improvisation.

These tools were used by griots to communicate between the Wolof villages, thanks to their ability to be heard several kilometers away.

Sabar is also called the musical genre related to the instrument.

The rhythm usually accompanies sabar dancing at parties and special occasions such es.nascite, weddings and other ceremonies.
