RATAPIGNATA LIVE – PIRRI – CAGLIARI – SATURDAY OCTOBER,6

From 6 to 20 October 2012, the Association of Merchants and Artisans Pirri organizes “Pirri Play 2012.” The event, organized with the support of Sardinia Genius – Tourism Innovation Lab is supported by the City of Cagliari and sponsored by the Province of Cagliari and the Municipality of Pirri.

Saturday, October 6, starting at 21, avenue Italy Pirri, corner of Via Salvo D’Acquisto, there will be a concert Ratapignata, with their new album “On Bandu.”

The Ratapignata were born in Cagliari in 1998 with the intention of creating a band that inspired ska, reggae and rocksteady from the beginnings (Skatalites, Toot’s & Maytals, Wailers, Steel Pulse, Gladiators). After several changes of musicians, the band currently consists of 9 elements from different musical backgrounds but share a passion for the music upbeat. Their music is a mixture of styles, rhythms and sounds, enhanced by texts written by the Sardinian singer Lele Pittoni, who speak of the joys and sorrows, the difficulties and rewards of everyday life in an island perpetually poised between modernity and tradition. In 10 years of activity, Ratapignata turned Sardinia and Italy and opened the concerts of New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Amparanoia, line 77, Folkearth, Beagle Boys, etc..
