The Rakija is a hard liquor similar to brandy and vodka, made by distilling or fermenting fruit, popular in the Balkans.
The Project Rakija (re) born in 2009 from the ashes of Shophar (a project of klezmer / Balkan) with the aim to study, disseminate and promote the music gypsy, klezmer, Balkan, and Affinity sound rather than thematic, tango and South American music, all passed under the filter of six musicians from different musical education and experience.
The Rakija are a group of enthusiasts in the Balkans, who for years played music in clubs and festivals of the island with great critical acclaim.
