L’omaggio di Wim Wenders a un “maestro” ribelle e dimenticato: Nicholas Ray.

Nell’aprile del 1979 il regista tedesco Wim Wenders fa visita al collega americano che considera il proprio maestro: Nicholas Ray. Costui è ormai vecchio, malato di cancro in fase terminale e da tempo inattivo. Wenders filma gli ultimi giorni di vita di Ray che sono anche una lezione sul cinema e di cinema. Alla fine una giunca cinese lascia il porto di New York con a bordo l’urna con le ceneri di Ray.

Arriva in Italia dal 23 gennaio da Eagle Pictures e ci sarà da ridere, il nuovo caso francese, la commedia applaudita al Festival di Cannes e che trascinata da un passa parola è record d’incassi al botteghino d’oltralpe. “Les Garcons et Guillaume, a’ table!” (I ragazzi e Guglielmo, a tavola!), brillante film di Guillaume Gallienne, in sala da noi con l’almodoveriano titolo Tutto sua madre ha gli ingredienti giusti per diventare un fenomeno cinematografico anche da noi.

Guillaume, fin da bambino, viene considerato da tutti diverso da come è. ”Il primo ricordo che ho di mia madre risale a quando avevo circa cinque anni. Chiamò me e i miei fratelli per cena e disse “Ragazzi e Guillaume, a tavola!”. L’ultima volta che le ho parlato al telefono, mi ha detto Ti abbraccio, mia cara.” È chiaro da queste due frasi che ci sia un malinteso con tutti e soprattutto con sua madre che dura circa trent’anni, finché incontra quella che diventerà la seconda donna più importante della sua vita.

In occasione del 100°Anniversario  della nascita del personaggio di Charlot che cade proprio il prossimo febbraio – A THE GOLD RUSH precede KID’S AUTO RACES AT VENICE (1914, 7′ ca.) sempre in versione restaurata e sottotitolata in italiano.
Questo breve film è infatti il primo in cui compare sullo schermo la mitica figura chapliniana con baffetti, bastone e bombetta….

La vita e la carriera del grande compositore e pianista jazz Michel Petrucciani, scomparso nel 1999 appena trentaseienne. La storia di un uomo dall’incredibile talento, che ha dovuto sconfiggere un pesante handicap fisico dovuto a una malattia genetica (l’osteogenosi imperfetta, che lo aveva colpito fin dalla nascita) per diventare un gigante della musica.

Un film ‘pragmatico’ che restituisce dignità alle cose e alle persone, rivendicando la manualità

Un uomo naviga a vista sull’Oceano Indiano. Colpito un container alla deriva, ripara la falla e libera lo scafo dall’acqua imbarcata. Accomodato il danno, riprende la navigazione minacciata da lontano da nuvole nere. Abile e previdente, si organizza per affrontare la tempesta che, forte e implacabile, ha la meglio sull’imbarcazione. Rovesciato, precipitato in mare, riemerso, arrampicato, scivolato, ferito, l’uomo getta in acqua un natante gonfiabile, attendendo che il vento e le onde si plachino. L’indomani sotto un sole timido recupera suppellettili, generi alimentari e oggetti di navigazione, guardando mestamente affondare la sua barca a vela. Munito di sestante e di saldo coraggio, si barcamena, calcolando la sua posizione sulla mappa nautica. Invisibile alle navi e ai mercantili che incrociano la sua rotta, non si arrende alla natura e alle incessanti tempeste, rispondendo alla sua collera e rovesciando i suoi rovesci.

Wim Wenders pays tribute to a “master ” rebel and forgotten : Nicholas Ray .

In April 1979, the German director Wim Wenders pays a visit to fellow American who considers his master : Nicholas Ray . He is now an old man , suffering from terminal cancer and idle time . Wenders filmed the last days of the life of Ray, who is also a lesson on cinema and cinema. At the end of a Chinese junk leaves the port of New York aboard the urn containing the ashes of Ray .
