Spazio alla formazione interculturale per i più piccoli nell’ambito di MOMOTI: un teatro, un burattino e la città, il progetto della Compagnia Is Mascareddas, Arcoiris Onlus e Larus Onlus con epicentro a Monserrato e con diverse attività previste nella cintura urbana cagliaritana. Sono aperte le iscrizioni al laboratorio di costruzione di giocattoli etnici e lavorazione del legno, in programma da
mercoledì (21 agosto) al 6 settembre nella sede di Arcoiris Onlus (in via Genova 36) a Quartu Sant’Elena.

Il percorso formativo, per bambini tra gli otto e i tredici anni d’età, è curato dall’operatore didattico keniano Augustine Namatsi Okubo. L’iniziativa si propone di “sviluppare competenze professionali in ambito culturale artistico e creativo, come occasione di crescita economica”, uno cinque obiettivi del progetto realizzato grazie al sostegno della Fondazione CON IL SUD attraverso il “Bando Storico, Artistico e Culturale 2011”.  Il corso si articola in otto mattinate dalle 9.30 alle 12.30, in programma mercoledì 21, giovedì 22, venerdì 23, martedì 27 e giovedì 29 agosto, e il 2, 4 e 6 settembre.

Durante le ventiquattro ore di lezione i partecipanti hanno modo di acquisire tecniche e conoscenze basilari della lavorazione del legno, per diventare essi stessi inventori e artefici del giocattolo, dando libero spazio alla fantasia e non subendo il prodotto pre-confezionato imposto dal mercato.  Per informazioni e iscrizioni contattare Is Mascareddas 070 5839742 –  ismascareddas@tiscali.it o Arcoiris Onlus 070 881841  – arcoirisonlus@tiscali.it.

Il laboratorio (propedeutico ad un secondo sulla costruzione ed animazione di burattini etnici, di prossima programmazione) fa da apripista ad una serie di eventi previsti a Monserrato fino ai primi di novembre per il rush finale del progetto MOMOTI: altri corsi di formazione e di didattica interculturale, mostre, incontri, spettacoli nei luoghi identitari della cittadina e l’atteso momento del Festival Internazionale MOMOTI.

Augustine Namatsi Okubo ha lavorato come operatore socio-culturale nei centri di aggregazione del suo paese natale. Okubo trasforma l’ultimo materiale di scarto in oggetti della quotidianità e creazioni artistiche, spinto dalla necessità di scambiare e valorizzare la diversità attraverso il gioco e la creatività quali forme di espressione. Ha realizzato i suoi laboratori in numerose scuole di tutta la Sardegna, incontrando bambini, ragazzi, insegnanti, educatori ed artisti con cui ha condiviso l’importanza della diversità come ricchezza e del rispetto per l’ambiente. È presidente dell’Associazione Culturale Foudu Dia.

The curriculum for children between eight and thirteen years of age, is edited by the operator teaching Kenyan Augustine Namatsi Okubo. The initiative aims to “develop professional competence in cultural, artistic and creative, as an opportunity for economic growth,” one five objectives of the project realized with the support of the Foundation WITH THE SOUTH through the “Call History, Art and Culture, 2011″. During the twenty-four hours of class participants have the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge and techniques of woodworking, to become themselves inventors and creators of the toy, giving free rein to the imagination and not undergoing the pre-packaged product imposed by the market. The laboratory (preparatory to a second of the construction and animation of puppets ethnic, forthcoming programming) is leading the way to a series of events planned in Montserrat until early November for the final rush of the project Momoti: other training and teaching intercultural, exhibitions, meetings, shows the places identity of the town and the expected time of the International Festival Momoti.

Augustine Namatsi Okubo worked as an operator in the socio-cultural community centers in his hometown. Okubo turns the last scrap material into objects of everyday life and artistic creations, driven by the need to exchange and celebrating diversity through play and creativity as forms of expression. He has made his workshops in several schools in the whole of Sardinia, meeting children, teens, teachers, educators and artists with whom he shared the importance of diversity as a richness and respect for the environment. He is president of the Cultural Foudu Dia.
