PRIMAVERA AL LABER – BERCHIDDA – 11 MAGGIO – 22 GIUGNOSPRING IN LABER – BERCHIDDA – MAY 11 TO JUNE 22

Dopo il positivo debutto dell’anno scorso, ritorna “Primavera al Laber”, la stagione culturale e di spettacoli organizzata a Berchidda (prov. Olbia-Tempio) dall’associazione Time in Jazz, titolare dell’omonimo festival ideato e diretto da Paolo Fresu (che tra l’8 e il 16 agosto taglia il traguardo della sua edizione numero ventisei).

Alla sua seconda edizione, l’appuntamento primaverile nel paese ai piedi del Limbara conferma la formula collaudata con successo al suo esordio, per proporre tra maggio e giugno cinque serate all’insegna di musica, cinema e libri negli spazi del Centro Laber, l’ex-caseificio trasformato in luogo di promozione e produzione artistica e culturale.

Si comincia sabato 11 maggio alle 19.30 con un incontro con lo scrittore Flavio Soriga e il suo nuovo romanzo, “Metropolis”, edito di recente da Bompiani: un avvincente noir metropolitano ambientato a Cagliari, con un capitano dei carabinieri che, chiamato a indagare su un omicidio, va alla scoperta della città, dalla spiaggia caraibica del Poetto ai centri commerciali della cinta suburbana, dall’alta borghesia ai semi-occupati delle periferie.

Altro libro e altra inchiesta, stavolta non di fiction, al centro dell’appuntamento che sette sere dopo – sabato 18 maggio (sempre alle 19.30) – ha per protagonista Vincenzo Sassu, autore di “Là-bas la banlieue”. Pubblicato nel 2011 da Bevivino Editore, il reportage del giornalista freelance e studioso delle nuove frontiere dell’’informazione, getta luce sulle rivolte delle banlieue, i media e l’immigrazione nel contesto francese, intrecciando descrizione, analisi e inchieste sul campo.

Musica, nella seconda parte della serata, con il trio del chitarrista Francesco Spina, con Fabrizio Leoni al basso e Andrea Spina alla batteria: una formazione di casa a Porto Torres e attiva dal 2009, che trova nel blues (sia elettrico che acustico) e nei generi correlati, come il funk e il rhythm and blues, il suo habitat naturale.

Trenta giorni di pausa precedono, martedì 18 giugno (ore 20.30), l’incontro con il regista Giovanni Columbu e la presentazione del suo ultimo film, “Su Re”. Accolta con favore dalla critica, la pellicola (che è approdata nella sale a fine marzo distribuita dalla Sacher Film di Nanni Moretti) traspone la Passione di Cristo in un luogo diverso da quello storico, in Sardegna, nel paesaggio lunare del Supramonte di Oliena, affidandosi all’interpretazione in sardo di attori non professionisti, e utilizzando i Vangeli di Marco, Matteo, Luca e Giovanni trasversalmente, come punti di vista diversi del medesimo racconto.

Nello stesso fine settimana “Primavera al Laber” saluta l’arrivo dell’estate celebrando la Festa della Musica con due produzioni originali. La prima, in programma venerdì 21 (alle 21.30) è “Funky train to Laber”, un progetto di Time in Jazz e Centro Laber che unisce per la prima volta due universi sonori solo apparentemente distanti: quello dei Train To Roots, una delle realtà più interessanti del panorama reggae nazionale (sulle scene dal 2004, con ben tre album all’attivo), e la Funky Jazz Orkestra, formazione berchiddese diretta da Antonio Meloni, già applaudita nella scorsa edizione del festival Time in Jazz con le sue trascinanti esibizioni. BujuMannu, Rootsman I e Paolinho, le tre voci dei Train To Roots, condivideranno il palco del Centro Laber con gli oltre venti musicisti (soprattutto fiati) della Funky Jazz Orkestra, per portare in scena una versione del tutto inedita di alcuni brani celebri del loro repertorio, appositamente arrangiati per l’occasione da Antonio Meloni e Davide Laconi.

La sera dopo, sabato 22 giugno (sempre alle 21.30), è invece la volta di “La prima rondine”, altra produzione originale di Time in Jazz che riunisce un cast d’eccezione: uno tra i più raffinati cantautori del panorama italiano, Niccolò Fabi, insieme ai fidati compagni di strada Roberto Angelini e Pier Cortese (chitarre e voci), incontra la tromba e il flicorno di un jazzista della caratura di Paolo Fresu e il violino di Sonia Peana. Musicisti provenienti da ambiti musicali ed espressività differenti si incontrano dunque per dare vita a un progetto del tutto inedito; un progetto che prosegue idealmente il percorso tracciato un anno fa, nella precedente edizione della primavera berchiddese con “Laber per Lucio e Faber”, il riuscitissimo tributo musicale a Lucio Dalla e Fabrizio De André, tra jazz e canzone d’autore, firmato da Paolo Fresu con il sassofonista Raffaele Casarano, Gaetano Curreri e Fabrizio Foschini, rispettivamente voce storica e tastierista degli Stadio.

After the successful debut last year, returns “Spring at Laber,” the cultural season and shows organized in Berchidda (Province of Olbia-Tempio) by the Time in Jazz, owner of the eponymous festival conceived and directed by Paolo Fresu (that between 8 and August 16, crosses the finish line of his edition number twenty-six).

In its second edition, the spring meeting in the village at the foot of the Limbara confirms the proven formula with success on his debut, to propose between May and June, five evenings of music, films and books in the spaces of the Center Laber, l ‘ former dairy farm now in place to promote and artistic and cultural production.

It begins Saturday, May 11 at 19.30 with a meeting with the writer Soriga Flavio and his new novel, “Metropolis,” recently published by Simon and Schuster: a thrilling urban noir set in Cagliari, with a captain of which, called to investigate a murder, goes to explore the city from the Caribbean beach Poetto suburban shopping malls of the city, the upper middle class to the semi-occupied the suburbs.

Another book and another investigation, this time non-fiction, in the middle of the appointment that seven nights later – Saturday, May 18 (also at 19.30) – starring Vincent Sassu, author of “Là-bas the banlieue.” Published in 2011 by Bevis Publisher, the report of a freelance journalist and scholar of the new frontiers of information”, sheds light on the riots in the banlieues, the media and immigration in the French context, weaving description, analysis and fieldwork.

Music, in the second part of the evening, with the trio of guitarist Francesco Spina, with Fabrizio Leoni on bass and Andrea Plug the battery: a training house in Porto Torres, active since 2009, which located in the blues (both electric and acoustic) and in related genera, such as funk and rhythm and blues, its natural habitat.

Thirty-day break before, Tuesday, June 18 (20.30), the meeting with director John Columbu and the presentation of his latest film, “On the King.” Welcomed by critics, the film (which has landed in theaters in late March released by Sacher Film by Nanni Moretti) transposes the Passion of Christ in a place other than the center, in Sardinia, in the lunar landscape of Supramonte of Oliena, relying interpretation in Sardinian non-professional actors, and using the Gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John transversely, as different views of the same story.

On the same weekend “Spring at Laber” greets the arrival of summer celebrating the Music Festival with two original productions. The first, scheduled for Friday 21 (21.30) is “Funky train to Laber,” a project of Time in Jazz and Central Laber combining for the first time two seemingly distant worlds of sound: that of the Train To Roots, one of the the most interesting national reggae (on the scene since 2004, with three albums under), and Funky Jazz Orkestra, training berchiddese directed by Antonio Meloni, already being hailed in the last edition of the festival Time in Jazz with its rousing performances. BujuMannu, Rootsman I and Paolinho, the three voices of the Train To Roots, will share the stage of the Center Laber with more than twenty musicians (especially wind) of Funky Jazz Orkestra, to stage a completely new version of some of their famous songs repertoire, specially arranged for the occasion by Antonio Meloni and David Lacock.

The next evening, Saturday, June 22 (also 21.30), it is the turn of “The first swallow”, another original production of Time in Jazz brings together an exceptional cast: one of the finest songwriters of the Italian scene, Nicholas Fabi, along with trusted companions Roberto Angelini and Pier Cortese (guitars and vocals), meets trumpet and flugelhorn jazz player of the caliber of Paolo Fresu and the violin of Sonia Paean. Musicians from different areas of music and expression, therefore, to come together to create a completely new project, a project which ideally continues the path mapped out a year ago, in the previous edition of spring berchiddese with “Laber for Lucio and Faber,” the highly successful Musical Tribute to Lucio Dalla and Fabrizio De André, jazz and song writing, signed by Paolo Fresu with saxophonist Raffaele Casarano, Gaetano Curreri and Fabrizio Foschini, respectively historical voice and keyboardist Stadium.
