L’esposizione storica e la ricerca documentale connessa, amalgamata con dovizia di riferimenti bibliografici, s’incentra, nel suo obiettivo primario, nell’evoluzione giuridica avvenuta in Sardegna, fin dalle prime civiltà isolane ai giorni nostri. Questa accurata ricerca dell’Auteri è uno stimolo alla comprensione sociopolitica della Sardegna, affinché il sardo sia partecipe, a pieno titolo e con le proprie capacità, delle scelte amministrative e, nello stesso tempo, è un invito a rifuggire aggregazioni clientelari, veri formicolai del malcontento popolare.
