Poi gli spiriti parleranno per bocca di Pasqualina, che dall’altare della chiesa con voce deformata predirà una grave disgrazia e gran pianto per la gente di Tertenia. In un pomeriggio freddo e uggioso di ottobre, armata di tutto il coraggio che solo una madre con un carattere indomito può avere, Irene affronta Domenichino e con un colpo secco alla fronte lo uccide…”
