Venerdì 15 marzo alle ore 18.30 nella sala della Torretta del Centro Comunale d’Arte e Cultura Exmà di Cagliari parte il terzo ciclo espositivo della rassegna d’arte contemporanea Vamp. La pittura creativa di Geep e Ilaria Gorgoni si materializza nella mostra intitolata Pop Shock. I due pittori provengono da mondi artistici differenti, Geep dalla street art e Ilaria Gorgoni da una pittura più tradizionale, ma sono giunti ad un punto di incontro che potremmo definire pop contemporaneo: colori accesi, icone dissacranti, messaggi ironici.

«Trionfo di cromie nelle opere coordinate di Geep e Ilaria Gorgoni, giovanissimi autori di una pop art vivace che ha saputo rielaborare in chiave contemporanea la lezione della Factory di Andy Warhol. La disumanizzazione dei soggetti con l’uso eccentrico del colore proietta le loro storie su un piano metafisico, calando le opere in un contesto inusuale e provocatorio. ll tema scelto viene dalla nostra realtà quotidiana:  gli inganni del cibo, la contaminazione, la cattiva alimentazione e più in generale la violenza che l’uomo compie sul pianeta e gli animali. Se siamo ciò che mangiamo è ora di fare un esame di coscienza: sofisticazione e marketing non si accordano con le nostre esigenze biologiche. Gli artisti ci esortano ad una maggiore consapevolezza e al rispetto di tutte le creature, mutuando dalla cronaca recente e meno recente gli argomenti di discussione; il gioco del colore non sminuisce l’efficacia del concetto ma lo trasporta su un piano ironico molto efficace. Il tratto grafico di Ilaria Gorgoni e quello dello stencil usato nella street art di Geep si amalgamano perfettamente in un insieme omogeneo in grado però di conservare le differenze stilistiche tra i due artisti. Più vicina al disegno pittorico la Gorgoni concede ampio spazio al bianco di fondo tracciando con la penna acquerellabile, l’ossido e l’acrilico contorni netti che definiscono le sue tormentate figure; colpisce l’attenzione per il gesto quotidiano che però, stigmatizzato, diviene quasi un simbolo, e fissa il momento come in una fotografia densa di significato. Geep invece utilizza tutto lo spazio a disposizione per creare delle texture monocrome che danno grande contrasto ai ritratti e completa il lavoro con una frenetica attività di taglia e incolla manuale per la realizzazione materiale degli stencil che utilizza per dipingere. La trasposizione dell’immagine stencil dalla strada alla tela mantiene intatta la forza del messaggio. Street art, pittura figurativa, pop art, grafica: questi gli ingredienti del terzo appuntamento con la rassegna Vamp, ingredienti per una pietanza dal sapore indigesto» – commenta il curatore Giacomo Pisano.

Ilaria Gorgoni, nata a Cagliari nel 1984, si è diplomata al Liceo Artistico in Grafica Pubblicitaria. Ha frequentato l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, indirizzo Design. Ha partecipato con mostre, installazioni e live painting a diversi eventi cagliaritani tra cui “LoveForMySelf”, Carhartt Square Cagliari e “Mansion Oddities” presso Bertola Srl nel 2009, “Imperfetto Futuro” a cura del Centro Culturale Man Ray nelle edizioni 2009 e 2012. Nel 2010 partecipa alla collettiva “Vis à Vis – Giovani artisti vs giovani collezionisti” a cura di Roberta Vanali. La sua ultima esposizione, la bipersonale “Vietato l’accesso” insieme alla fotografa Luna Cesari, è stata ospitata nel maggio 2012 nello spazio ex Poste Regie di Cagliari, con un progetto a cura di Efisio Carbone, Stefano Raccis, Inès Richter.

Geep, Cagliaritano, classe 1989, ha frequentato il Liceo Artistico di Cagliari ed è attualmente iscritto all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. Ha partecipato con due opere alla mostra “Street art a Cagliari, dalla strada a Palazzo Regio”(2011), ha ricevuto una menzione nel concorso FONZIES, ed è stato premiato al concorso AVIS 2003. Ha partecipato alla mostra “Street Art dalla strada ai media” presso la sede dell’Unione Sarda a Cagliari.

La rassegna proseguirà con il quarto ciclo espositivo dal 12 aprile al 5 maggio con la street art e l’ecodesign di Manu Invisible e Laura Tarty. La rassegna si protrarrà sino al 28 luglio con altri appuntamenti espositivi di arte contemporanea.

Friday, March 15 at 18.30 in the hall of the tower Municipal Center for Art and Culture Exmà Cagliari part of the third series of exhibitions of contemporary art exhibition Vamp. The painting creative jeep and Ilaria Gorgons materializes in the exhibition entitled Pop Shock. The two artists come from different artistic worlds, jeep street art and Ilaria Gorgons from a more traditional painting, but have come to a meeting point that could be called contemporary pop: bright colors, icons irreverent, ironic messages.

“Triumph of colors in the works coordinates jeep and Ilaria Gorgons, young artists a lively pop art that has managed to rework a contemporary lesson of Andy Warhol’s Factory. Dehumanization of people with eccentric use of color casts their stories on a metaphysical plane, dropping works in an unusual context and provocative. The theme comes from our everyday reality: the deceptions of the food, contamination, poor diet and, more generally, the violence that man makes on the planet and animals. If we are what we eat, it’s time to make an examination of conscience, sophistication and marketing do not agree with our biological needs. The artists invite us to a greater awareness and respect for all creatures, borrowing from the chronicle recent and less recent topics of discussion and the game play of color does not diminish the effectiveness of the concept but carries on an ironic very effective. The stretch graphic Ilaria Gorgons and the stencil used in street art of jeep blend perfectly in a homogeneous able however to preserve the stylistic differences between the two artists. Closer to the pictorial design gives ample space to the Gorgons white background drawing with the pen Poster colors, oxide and acrylic contours that define its tormented figures, affects attention to the daily gesture but, stigmatized, becomes almost a symbol, and set the time as in a photograph full of meaning. Jeep instead of using all the space available to create textures that give high-contrast monochrome portraits and complete the job with a frenetic cut and paste manual for the implementation of the stencil material that uses to paint. The transposition of the image canvas stencil from road to keeping the force of the message. Street art, figurative painting, pop art, graphic design: these are the ingredients of the third round with a review Vamp, ingredients for a dish taste indigestible “- says the curator James Pisano.

Ilaria Gorgons, born in Cagliari in 1984, she graduated from the Art School in Commercial Art. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Design address. He participated with exhibitions, installations and live painting in various events including Cagliari “LoveForMySelf” Carhartt Square Cagliari and “Mansion Oddities” at Bertola Srl in 2009, “Future Imperfect” by the Cultural Center Man Ray in the editions of 2009 and 2012. In 2010 participates in the collective “Vis à Vis – Young Artists vs young collectors” by Roberta Vanali. His last exhibition, the two-person “Keep Out” with the photographer Luna Cesari, was held in May 2012 in the space formerly Poste Regie of Cagliari, with a project by Efisio Carbone, Stefano Raccis, Inès Richter.

Jeep, Cagliari, born in 1989, he attended the Art School of Cagliari and is currently enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. He participated with two works in the exhibition “Street art in Cagliari, the road to the Royal Palace” (2011), received an honorable mention in the competition Fonzies, and was awarded at the AVIS 2003. He participated in the “Street Art from the street to the media” at the headquarters of the Sarda in Cagliari.
