Escursione sulla Giara
Le escursioni guidate si adattano all’ambiente ed in ogni periodo si cerca di mostrare le particolarità stagionali.
In ogni periodo dell’anno è possibile visitare la Giara, in ciascuna stagione lo scenario muta, l’ambiente si trasforma e la natura ci stupisce. Per chi ama il trekking e la Sardegna, la Giara è un itinerario turistico da non perdere.
Le guide conoscono il territorio e vi guidano alla ricerca del cavallo della Giara e degli scenari più suggestivi.

La Giara
Il nome Giara, Sa Jara, deriva probabilmente dal latino glarea (ghiaia), con riferimento alla diffusa pietrosità che caratterizza la superficie dell’altopiano.
L’altopiano di basalto pliocenico della Giara (500–600 m s.l.m.) circondato da quattordici comuni, si sviluppa per circa 45 km² di territorio.

Ripide falesie di scura roccia lavica, da cui talora precipitano scroscianti cascatelle, contornano questo vasto altopiano, la cui sommità sorprendentemente pianeggiante è impreziosita dai suggestivi ristagni d’acqua dei paulis (Pauli Tramatzu, Pauli Maiori, ecc.) con le loro splendide, biancheggianti fioriture primaverili dei ranuncoli d’acqua.
Gli scoscesi pendii della Giara, rigogliosi di verdeggianti boschi e macchia mediterranea, sono modellati nei teneri sedimenti marnosi marini del Miocene, a tratti incisi da ripidi canali d’acqua stagionali. In questi versanti, frequenti sorgenti (funtanas o mitzas) traggono spesso origine dalle infiltrazioni delle acque piovane lungo il reticolato di diaclasi che attraversa la roccia basaltica sommitale.

P.AR.C.(Paleoarcheocentro)

Il P.AR.C. nasce con l’obiettivo di conservare e valorizzare i reperti fossili e archeologici del territorio e diffondere la conoscenza del nostro patrimonio storico e scientifico. Il Paleo Archeo Centro è un museo di nuova concezione, dinamico e strettamente legato al territorio che lo circonda. Un luogo per la comprensione dei fenomeni scientifici e storici, della loro importanza nella nostra formazione culturale e il loro impiego nella vita pratica.

Laboratorio Paleolab

L’obiettivo dei Paleolab è di avvicinare i ragazzi alla paleontologia, stimolandone la curiosità con un approccio attivo e dinamico. I fossili sono l’orologio della terra. Al paleontologo junior il compito di trovarli, capire la linea del tempo e memorizzare le ere geologiche.

Museo del cavallino della Giara

Il museo si pone dal punto di vista etnografico come piccolo centro di ricerca e conservazione della memoria storica del territorio. Gli attrezzi di questa sezione provengono dal lavoro contadino, altri ancora sono gli strumenti per la cura del cavallo, materiali che più appartengono alla nostra storia. Il museo vanta una piccola raccolta digitale di foto storiche e video e un discreto bookshop. Il museo, particolarmente suggestivo, è allestito all’interno di una tipica e antica casa campidanese a corte centrale. Il giardino e parte delle sale vengono affittate per rinfreschi e cene tipiche.

Excursion on Giara
The guided tours are suitable for the environment and at any time we try to show the special season.
Throughout the year you can visit the jar, in each season, the scenario changes, the environment changes and the nature amazes us. For those who love trekking and Sardinia, Clara is a tourist should not miss.

The Jar
Name Jar, Sa Jara, probably derives from the Latin Glarea (gravel), with reference to the widespread stoniness that characterizes the surface of the plateau.
The Pliocene basalt plateau of the Jar (500-600 m asl) surrounded by fourteen municipalities, runs for about 45 km ² of land.

Steep cliffs of black lava rock, which sometimes fall thundering waterfalls surround this vast plateau, whose summit is surprisingly flat embellished with beautiful water stagnation of paulis (Tramatzu Pauli, Pauli Maiori, etc..) With their beautiful, glistening spring flowers buttercups water.
The steep slopes of the Jar, lush green forests and the Mediterranean, are modeled in the soft sediments of the Miocene marine marls, sometimes incised by steep seasonal water channels. In these slopes, frequent sources (Funtanas or mitzas) are often caused by the infiltration of rainwater along the network of diaclasi through the basalt rock summit.

P.AR.C. (Paleoarcheocentro)

The P.AR.C. created with the aim to preserve and enhance the fossil and archaeological territory and spread the knowledge of our historical heritage and science. The Paleo Archaeological Center is a museum of newly developed, dynamic and closely linked to the territory that surrounds it. A place for the understanding of scientific and historical, of their importance in our cultural background and their use in practical life.

Laboratory Paleolab

The objective of Paleolab is to bring the boys to paleontology, stimulating their curiosity with a proactive and dynamic. Fossils are the clock of the earth. Junior paleontologist at the task of finding, understanding the time line and store the geological ages.

Museum of the Horse of the Jar

The museum is the ethnographic point of view as a small research and conservation of the historical memory of the territory. The tools in this section are from peasant labor, others are tools for horse care, materials that belong more to the story. The museum has a small digital collection of historical photos and a decent bookshop. The museum is particularly impressive, is housed in a typical old house campidanese a central courtyard. The garden and part of the rooms are rented for receptions and dinners.
