NOTHING ME COMBING BEST THE WIND – CAGLIARI – SEPTEMBER 28 TO OCTOBER 28
It opens Friday, September 28 at 19:30 at the Municipal Center of Art and Culture Castello San Michele Nothing shows me the best comb of the wind, sponsored by Art Meeting & Prometheus in collaboration with SVME – Association support alopecia areata, Art Cafe London and Agora.
The event, which takes its name from the famous phrase Merini Alda, was born to Mary Jole Serreli and aims to raise community awareness of a disease that there is great spread, but we are talking about very rarely.
Alopecia is in fact a little known disease that affects 2% of the world population, regardless of skin color, the eating habits, behaviors and personal hygiene. It manifests itself in different forms and with unpredictable course with hair loss and hair.
Nothing pleases me better wind combs aims to give visibility to alopecia through art, exploring and developing the core issues related to it in an effort to inform the community and instill a sense of confidence and courage in those who are affected.
The project was launched in April 2012 with the publication of a contract aimed at the selection of paintings and photographs, open to all artists who wish to submit a work sensitive to the issue freely interpreting the phrase Alda Merini which gives its name initiative.
Precisely because of the delicacy and complexity of the selection of works was carried out by a committee made up specially for the occasion, consisting of a artistic consultant, un’arteterapeuta and a psychologist, who chose about 20 works, not only artists, but also of people, living every day alopecia, took the opportunity to talk about it and share their experience – Artists: Adriano Demofonti, Tonino Mattu, Tiziana Pili, Michele Melis, Annalisa Blandamura, Michele Deidda, Anna Marchi, Marco Novello, Cristina and Andrea Masi Torrini, Rossana Corti, Available Salvatore Mura.
The exhibition was then enriched with works submitted by artists invited to participate have faced a research and study on the subject – Artists: Elena Faleschini, Damyan Komel, Lady Brush, Fernanda Quaglia, Cinzia Carrus, Daniele Colombo, Fabio Costantino Mace , Mary Jole Serreli and Fabrizio Pittalis. The National Association of Alopecia Areata (ANAA) of Udine, has also graciously allowed the photographic installation created by photographer and artist Fernando Zanetti. Parallel to the selection, the artist Walter Petretto, in collaboration with Michele Andrich, made a videocartoon to promote the event and to support multimedia awareness raising in the community and on the web. The exhibition, open from 28 September to 28 October, will be the first step in a series of roadshows will take place after Cagliari in Sardinia. Once you have completed the course isolate the show will go on in the rest of Italy, first in Udine and Milan, then in Europe.
During his journey, the exhibition will be accompanied by a draft survey sull’alopecia curated by promoting social Agora Art together with the Association Meeting.
