L’ARMERIA DEI BRIGANTI
L’Armeria dei Briganti è una band di sette elementi che suona, globalmente, 32 corde, 3 pelli e 2 piatti. E poi canta. Una miscela di swing, canzone d’autore, qualche ripescaggio di splendidi brani ingiustamente maltrattati da tv e pubblicità con strizzatine d’occhio continue alla canzone francese: Sanseverino, Jamait, Vian e altri. Un’ora e mezza di canzoni a comporre un repertorio “originale”, frutto però di uno spudorato ladrocinio senza paragoni: brani fatti in casa si fondono a rifacimenti di canzoni altrui tradotte o stravolte nei testi. Racconti musicati di piccole tragedie personali, di titaniche imprese. Un concerto coinvolgente e, alla faccia di chi crede sia “peccato”, anche divertente. A volte. Il tutto sotto lo sguardo di Django Reinhardt che li guarda costantemente dall’alto… magari male, ma li guarda. L’interazione con il pubblico e l’ironia sono tra gli elementi portanti del loro modo di intendere la musica e lo spettacolo in genere. Si sono autodefiniti: “Una band che scherza… molto seriamente”. Tanto per non farsi mancare niente hanno anche un motto: “Dateci un palco e vi solleviamo il morale”.

The ARMORY OF BANDITS
The Armory of the Brigantes is a seven-piece band that plays, globally, 32 strings, 3 skins and 2 plates. And then she sings. A mixture of swing, song writing, some repechage of beautiful music unjustly mistreated by TV and advertising with winks to continue French song: Sanseverino, Jamait, Vian and others. An hour and a half to put together a repertoire of songs “original”, but the result of a shameless robbery unparalleled: songs homemade blend with remakes of songs others translated or distorted in the texts. Stories to music of small personal tragedies, of titanic companies. A concert addictive and, in the face of those who believe it is “sin” and also amusing. Sometimes. All under the gaze of Django Reinhardt constantly watching them from above … maybe bad, but look at them. The interaction with the audience and irony are among the main elements of their understanding of the music and the show in general.
