Una serata da sold out previsto con una band di musica elettronica tra le più apprezzate della scena italiana: i Motel Connection.
Dopo le prime date da tutto esaurito del tour partito lo scorso 28 febbraio e l’entusiasmante perfomance al concerto del 1° maggio a Roma, la celebre formazione nata a Torino nel 2000, si appresta a sbarcare anche nel capoluogo della Sardegna per un unico appuntamento che ha i numeri del grande evento.

Sono infatti, Samuel, già celebre voce dei Subsonica, Pierfunk, bassista dei Subsonica della prima ora e Pisti, dance oriented Dj e produttore a cui si aggiunge a seguire in una performance in solo Davide Dileo alias Boosta, storico tastierista e fondatore dei Subsonica, i protagonisti assoluti del viaggio musicale “Motel Connection & Boosta D.J Set”, in programma il prossimo 11 luglio alle ore 21,30 all’Arena Sant’Elia (zona lato mare) di Cagliari.

Il concerto che per certi aspetti rappresenta una sorta di rendez-vous eccezionale  perché per una sera riporta davanti al pubblico sardo i tre artisti torinesi ed ex cuori pulsanti dei Subsonica, apre il calendario degli eventi musicali dell’estate 2013 proposto dalla SEM Organizzazione Soc Coop.

Non hanno bisogno di molte presentazioni i Motel Connection perché a partire dall”esperienza Subsonica, Samuel, Pierfunk e Pisti, si sono cuciti addosso abiti di artisti impegnati in un costante lavoro di ricerca e sperimentazione musicale che ora con “Vivace” il nuovo album in distribuzione dallo scorso 9 aprile  segna il punto di arrivo di un percorso musicale che dura da oltre dieci anni.

Un cammino segnato da una ricerca sonora che ora si fa più strumentale, rock, e per certi aspetti anche più punk come spiegano i tre musicisti del collettivo torinese “Nelle tracce del nuovo album ‘Vivace’, convivono due anime. Su una matrice classica (la musica dance) s’inseriscono elementi dirompenti (il suono distorto dei synth analogici, l’uso delle linee vocali, la sperimentazione sonora), che cambiano completamente la prospettiva iniziale. In questo senso, in ‘Vivace’, c’è qualcosa di punk, laddove il termine sta a indicare l’idea della distruzione dei canoni mainstream allo scopo di costruire qualcosa di nuovo. Più fresco, genuino e potente.”

Così come quest’ultima fatica è un album dalle velocità differenti, un disco da ballare, prima che da ascoltare contraddistinto da un’elettronica diversa rispetto alle precedenti esperienze,  allo stesso modo la tappa cagliaritana all’Arena Sant’Elia si traduce in un rinnovato  abbraccio con la gente, un’ interazione nata da quell’idea di condivisione che è una delle caratteristiche fondanti della band.

Proprio per questo i Motel Connection proporranno anche ai fan sardi presenti al concerto qualcosa di più di una sorpresa digitale: il contatto con la nuova app ProxToMe (www.proxtome.com) per iPhone e Android per interagire con loro in diretta.  ProxToMe infatti, consente di visualizzare il profilo pubblico Facebook di chiunque utilizzi la app nel raggio di 80 metri e di distribuire istantaneamente qualsiasi tipo di contenuto digitale in-cloud, con basso impatto sulla vita della batteria. Ma i Motel Connection si distinguono anche per la loro rinnovata collaborazione con il mondo del cinema, infatti il brano “Less is More” estratto dal nuovo album è contenuto nella colonna sonora del nuovo film di Marco Ponti “Passione Sinistra”. Inoltre, il collettivo torinese è stato scelto per aprire le date italiane del “The Delta Machine Tour” dei Depeche Mode, il 18 luglio allo Stadio San Siro di Milano, il 20 luglio allo Stadio Olimpico di Roma.
