Durante l’Avvento Stoccarda, il vivace capoluogo del Land, si trasforma in una vera e propria favola di Natale e diventa anche il punto di partenza ideale per andare alla scoperta delle fiere natalizie nelle città limitrofe. Stoccarda vanta uno dei mercati di Natale più antichi e grandi d’Europa.

Atmosfere barocche promette, invece, il mercato di Natale di Ludwigsburg, la cittadina a circa 20 chilometri da Stoccarda in cui si incontra il più grande castello barocco della Germania.

MERCATINO DEL CENTRO STORICO
Il mercatino di Natale di Stoccarda quest’anno ha luogo dal 26 novembre al 23 dicembre 2014. Con 280 stand di legno è uno dei più grandi in Europa e i suoi oltre 300 anni di storia ne fanno uno dei più antichi: lo si trova citato per la prima volta nel 1692, ma le sue radici risalgono ancora addietro. È anche uno dei più belli. Le file di bancarelle si snodano dal Castello Nuovo in stile barocco al neoclassico Königsbau, da Piazza Schiller con il Castello Vecchio e la cattedrale gotica fino alla Piazza del mercato, sede del municipio. Impeccabili le decorazioni degli stand che costituiscono il tratto distintivo e più famoso del mercatino di Stoccarda. Le fatiche degli allestitori trovano il giusto riconoscimento dei visitatori ma non solo, perché ogni anno una giuria seleziona e premia la bancarella migliore.

La vicina Karlplatz ospita poi il Villaggio finlandese del Natale dove gustare specialità scandinave come glögi (vin brulé di bacche), birra scandinava, salmone alla fiamma e prosciutto di renna. La facciata del municipio invece diventa un enorme calendario dell’avvento. Ogni giorno viene aperta una finestra che rivela lo stemma di un quartiere di Stoccarda. La cerimonia di apertura del mercatino di Natale di Stoccarda avrà luogo il 28 novembre alle ore 18 nella corte rinascimentale del Castello Vecchio, dove poi ogni sera si terrà un concerto natalizio.

Mercatino di Natale e medievale di Esslingen
Tintori e cenciaioli, fabbri e soffiatori di vetro danno dimostrazioni di antichi mestieri. Giullari e mangiafuoco, guitti e trampolieri si aggirano fra i visitatori delle 200 bancarelle. Visitare il mercatino di Esslingen è un’esperienza indimenticabile per la singolare atmosfera creata fra case a graticcio e vicoli romantici. Il programma prevede inoltre una fiaccolata al castello e musiche medievali nella Cattedrale di San Paolo. Dal più vasto sondaggio comparato fra i visitatori di 1.300 mercatini di Natale in aree di lingua tedesca condotto dalla Scuola Superiore di Hagen, il mercatino di Esslingen è risultato il più amato in assoluto. Ha ottenuto anche il primo posto nelle categorie “Offerte per ogni età” e “Convenienza” superando Norimberga, Vienna e Salisburgo. Mercatino di Natale Barocco di Ludwigsburg
Dal 26 novembre al 22 dicembre 2014 il mercatino di Natale Barocco di Ludwigsburg torna a incantare con le sue arcate illuminate, gli angeli dorati e oltre 175 bancarelle riccamente addobbate. Oltre alle luci, anche la disposizione degli stand è orchestrata ad arte per creare una piccola “città del Natale”, riproducendo in scala la simmetria lineare delle strade di Ludwigsburg e del parco nel suo famoso castello barocco. Di giorno il mercatino è animato da spettacoli per bambini con marionette, prestigiatori e clown. La sera invece si accendono le note di un ricco programma musicale. Il mercatino di Ludwigsburg è aperto tutti i giorni dalle ore 11 alle 21.

Cosa Vedere
Stoccarda ha circa 560.000 abitanti ed è la capitale della regione di Baden-Württemberg. Oltre ad essere una città universitaria con due atenei, è un importante centro dell’industria automobilistica tedesca, sede di marchi come Mercedes-Benz e Porsche. Negli ultimi anni si è anche guadagnata la fama di città della cultura e della musica, con un balletto ed un’orchestra da camera

famosi in tutto il mondo.

Non è però solo una città moderna, ma è anche un luogo dove il contatto ed il rispetto per l’ambiente sono molto sentiti. Stoccarda si trova in una valle, circondata da colline con boschi, frutteti e vigneti, ma è ricca di ampi spazi verdi anche al proprio interno.
Tra i luoghi di maggior interesse c’è Schlossplatz, il cuore della città, al centro della quale si innalza la Colonna del Giubileo, alta 30 metri, luogo d’incontro molto amato dagli abitanti di Stoccarda. La piazza è così chiamata poiché vi si affaccia il Castello nuovo, edificio fatto costruire dal duca Carlo Eugenio di Württemberg intorno al 1750, come ultima imponente residenza in stile barocco della Germania. Il suo intento era farne la propria maestosa sede e di rendere Stoccarda una seconda Versailles. Il Neues Schloss restò la residenza dei re del Württemberg fino alla metà del secolo scorso. Il castello fu distrutto dai bombardamenti nel 1944 e ricostruito fra il 1958 e il 1964. Oggi esso ospita i ministeri del governo del Baden-Württemberg ed alcune sale di rappresentanza.  Poco lontano si può scorgere il Castello vecchio, così chiamato perchè di origini medievali. L’Altes Schloss si erge proprio nel luogo in cui un tempo pascolavano i cavalli del duca Luitolf di Svevia, da cui deriva il nome stesso della città, Stutengarten, cioè scuderie. Il suo pittoresco cortile interno porticato rispecchia lo splendore della città di residenza, mentre le sale interne ospitano il museo del Württemberg (Württembergisches Landesmuseum).

Uno dei maggior pregi di Stoccarda è l’abbondanza di spazi verdi. In questa città quasi il 20% del territorio è sottoposto a norme di tutela del paesaggio, inoltre strade statali e ferrovia sono sormontati da ponti pedonali e ciclabili esito delle avveniristiche ricerche dell’ingegneria di Stoccarda. La cosiddetta “U verde” poi è un esempio lampante di quanto la città ami la natura. Si tratta infatti di un’immensa area verde, nata in seguito a diverse mostre di giardinaggio, che copre una superficie totale di 5,6 kmq e che da Piazza Castello attraversa il centro città, per arrivare ai boschi dei quartieri periferici. Al suo interno essa comprende i Giardini del castello e il Rosensteinpark (magnifico e antico patrimonio arboreo), il giardino di Leibfriedscher, il Wartberg e il parco sulla collina di Killesberg.

Il quartiere residenziale Weißenhofsiedlung è uno dei principali monumenti architettonici moderni a livello mondiale. Nel 1927 i più celebri architetti del tempo inviarono a Stoccarda i loro progetti per la realizzazione dell’esposizione “Werkbund – Die Wohnung”, nell’ambito della tradizione del Bauhaus, con l’intento di costruire delle case modello rispondenti a una nuova concezione della costruzione e dell’abitazione.
