Venticinque stand, divisi in due spazi tematici per riportare piazza Tola alla sua naturale vocazione di centro mercatale più importante della città . L’Amministrazione comunale ha scelto quest’anno di promuovere e sostenere l’allestimento di nuovi mercatini di Natale, in occasione delle festività natalizie. L’assessorato alle Attività produttive e Commercio ha sposato il progetto dell’associazione Kirghisia che dal I dicembre e sino al 6 gennaio, allestirà in piazza Tola un mercatino di Natale come iniziativa di animazione culturale realizzata in collaborazione con le altre attività commerciali presenti nella piazza.
Per tutta la giornata, dalle 9 alle 22, sarà possibile visitare gli stand, divisi in due spazi tematici: da una parte ci sarà l’esposizione e la vendita di opere d’ingegno realizzate con diversi materiali, e dall’altra si troverà il modernariato, i libri usati, l’oggettistica e l’abbigliamento vintage.
Oltre alla mostra mercato, saranno organizzati eventi culturali con artisti di strada e musicisti. Non mancheranno appuntamenti con il buon cibo, tutto in un’ottica di rilancio delle attività artigianali e commerciali della zona.
L’iniziativa può contare anche sul sostegno della Felsa Cisl, la Federazione Lavoratori Somministrati Autonomi Atipici dello storico sindacato che ha offerto il proprio contributo per la buona riuscita dell’iniziativa.
Piazza Tola rappresenta per il centro storico un simbolo e non solo per l’importante ruolo svolto nella storia cittadina in termini di sviluppo commerciale, ma anche e soprattutto per quello svolto socialmente.
Negli ultimi anni la piazza ha ripreso ad essere un punto di riferimento per giovani e bambini che la frequentano abitualmente, grazie anche alle nuove realtà commerciali che con coraggio hanno scelto di investire in questa parte della città . La piazza è stata completamente ristrutturata nell’ambito dell’interventi di rifacimento dei sottoservizi, e un anno fa anche il monumento, l’opera scultorea dedicata alla figura del celebre storico – giurista, è stato interessato da un accurato intervento di restauro conservativo.
Da qualche anno inoltre la piazza ospita diverse iniziative culturali, concerti, spettacoli musicali di teatro e di danza a conferma di quanto l’Amministrazione comunale abbia investito nel rilancio della piazza e del centro storico.
La scelta su dove collocare un nuovo mercatino a tema natalizio è stata dunque piuttosto semplice: il fulcro vitale più amato dai sassaresi per recuperare antiche tradizioni, arti e mestieri oggi in difficoltà e competere così con i grandi centri commerciali che ormai da tempo accolgono i mercatini natalizi.
