ME REFUSED TO REFUSE A REFUSAL – VILLASIMIUS – 7-28 OCTOBER
A path between materials and objects take on a new life thanks to the intervention of the artist: it is the first solo Frau Laura, a young designer from Villasimius few years focuses its research on creative recycling and the slow design.
Laura Frau, tarty in art, was born in Cagliari in 1989. He lived in Villasimius, a few years moving between Sardinia and Milan. She studied Interior Design at IED Milan, where he graduated a few months ago with the thesis “EcoUnion” has participated in various appetizers art in Milan, and at the “ConvivioMilano” sponsored by Vogue Italy. Since 2010 collaborates with Manu Invisible, street artist in San Sperate which implements projects and art workshops in collaboration with local and associazioni.La his passion for recycling has led her to explore the theme of the Slow Design particularly in its practical applications and daily: the caps of spray become earrings, old fruit boxes are transformed into seats, small residues of plastic or fabric are the elements to create necklaces and jewelry, all in a perspective of creative recovery “slow”, where the refusal is personalized and becomes something new, unique and valuable.
The exhibition “I refuse to refuse waste” will be set up in the spaces of Casa Todde, Villasimius, with opening Sunday, 7 October: from 17 opening of the exhibition, and a special live painting materials and ecological paint by Manu and Invisible Stefano Obino.All ‘interior will be exhibited thirty creations from objects and materials no longer useful, that thanks to the artist take on a meaning and a new feature. The matter continues to pursue its life cycle ended only in appearance, thus avoiding interference environment. The exhibition begins in the courtyard of Casa Todde, with the presentation of vertical gardens made from waste plastic bottles, cans, old containers and boxes have received seeds and seedlings, and so offer a green corner to the visitors. The tour continues with materials that give body exposure: fruit and vegetables, newspapers and paper, aluminum, plastic, glass, wood and fabric.
The initiative is made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Villasimius and the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara, interested in the dissemination of practical applications of recycled objects and materials otherwise destined to remain unused.
