Approda anche al Le Due Torri del Poetto di Quartu la apprezzata selezione jazz e pop della giovane cantante ogliastrina del Conservatorio, Manuela Mameli, con l’accompagnamento al pianoforte del maestro Sandro Mura dei Sunflower Quartet.
Un repertorio variegato, rivisitato secondo l’originale punto di vista del Duo, avidamente alla ricerca di suggestioni armoniche senza riguardo per etichette e categorie, in una combinazione intrigante di sapori solo apparentemente in contrasto tra loro.
Una serata diversa nel simpatico stabilimento di Capitan Mallus, in cui, alle atmosfere soffuse con cui godersi in assoluto relax la pace di una notte in riva al mare di un Ottobre ancora mite, si alterneranno guizzi di swing vivace e frizzante, pescando, con disinvoltura e senza pregiudizi, tanto dall’inesauribile patrimonio dei classici del jazz quanto dall’universo pop, da Stevie Wonder a Sting, fino anche a successi della musica commerciale, elegantemente rielaborati dalle ricercate note del pianoforte e dalla irresistibile vocalità vellutata di Manuela Mameli, con le sue calde e avvolgenti interpretazioni di disarmante intensità.
Per l’occasione la cucina capitanata dal mitico Marcello Mallus, offrirà a tutti i partecipanti una cena succulenta e verace, con piatti composti a prezzi economici, a cominciare dalla degustazione dei prelibati Ricci del nostro mare, già sgusciati, a 5€ la dozzina.

Sandro Mura è pianista e prolifico compositore di lunga e consolidata esperienza. Dall’estate del 2005, insieme, tra gli altri, alla docente di canto jazz del Conservatorio di Cagliari Francesca Corrias, fa parte del Sunflower Quartet, il progetto musicale tutto Made in Cagliari che è già considerato dalla critica specializzata la stella del neo jazz italiano. Con questa affiatata formazione, il maestro Mura ha inciso l’album “Frattale”, in cui compaiono diversi brani di sua creazione, distribuito su tutto il territorio nazionale da Egea, riscuotendo anche dal vivo ottimi consensi di pubblico e critica da parte delle riviste specializzate tra le più autorevoli, come dai palchi dei festival più importanti della Sardegna quali Time in Jazz di Berchidda diretto da Paolo Fresu, l’European Jazz Expo di Cagliari, o, fuori Sardegna, la Casa del Jazz a Roma e la Nasjonal Jazzscene di Oslo, grazie alla collaborazione con l’Istituto Italiano della Cultura in Norvegia. Recentemente, all’interno di questo progetto di grande interesse, ha affrontato un’intensa tournèe nella Repubblica Ceca sui palchi dei festival jazz e dei jazzclub più importanti di Praga e dintorni, ha partecipato alla 17° edizione del festival “Umbria Jazz”, tra i più prestigiosi d’Italia, al fianco dei grandi protagonisti della scena jazz mondiale, oltre ad aver aperto il live straordinario nell’Anfiteatro di Cagliari della regina della soul e disco music degli anni ’70, Gloria Gaynor, per un esplicito apprezzamento del progetto da parte dell’artista statutinitense.
Manuela Mameli, versatile e preparata cantante del Conservatorio Jazz di Cagliari, già da qualche anno si sta mettendo in luce come una delle voci più interessanti e promettenti del panorama musicale cittadino e, benché giovanissima, gode ormai di una certa notorietà sia nell’ambiente jazz sia in quello della musica tradizionale sarda, avendo all’attivo non soltanto più di dieci anni sui palchi di tutta l’isola, nei quali si è costantemente segnalata per la calda intensità delle sue interpretazioni, ma anche un’esperienza di diversi mesi in Svezia, durante la quale è stata anche selezionata da una radio di Los Angeles grazie ad alcuni video musicali girati a PiteÃ¥, suscitando l’interesse di una casa discografica tedesca per alcuni lavori in studio, tra i vari progetti discografici e concertistici che ha in cantiere e ai quali si sta dedicando.
Apprezzata nel circuito dei locali cagliaritani da un nutrito pubblico di appassionati intenditori che la segue ormai con molto affetto, ha partecipato al Jazz Expo ed è stata più volte ospitata e intervistata sui media locali, in particolare Radio Press, Radio Golfo Degli Angeli, Radio Level One, oltre ad una partecipazione alla trasmissione “Anninnora”di Sardegna Uno con un brano di sua composizione in dedica ad Andrea Parodi, scritto a due mani col chitarrista jazz e flamenco Flavio Secchi. Ha collaborato con numerosi musicisti affermati sulla scena locale, tra cui, ripetutamente, il compositore di fama internazionale Peter Waters, il pianista Sandro Mura dei Sunflower Quartet di Francesca Corrias, la black voice inglese di Kevin Leo, con cui si è esibita in due concerti al Jambalaya Jazz Lounge, nonché con Paolo Nonnis, il batterista sardo che ha avuto successo negli States, col quale collabora in uno swing quintet stabile. È vocalist del progetto “Youjazz” sotto la direzione artistica del batterista cagliaritano Gianrico Manca.

Sandro Mura is a pianist and prolific composer of long experience .
