Le avvolgenti suggestioni del jazz e del blues continuano a conquistare Cagliari locale dopo locale grazie all’incantevole vocalità di Manuela Mameli e alla collaudata competenza di Rubens Massidda brillantemente al servizio di magistrali – e ormai sempre più apprezzate – reinterpretazioni in chiave acustica degli standard e traditional più e meno noti.

Questo sabato sarà la volta dell’Ethnic Café di Via Genovesi 22, suggestivo pub di recente apertura nella pittoresca cornice di Castello, che è anche Internet Café, adatto per gruppi e dove è possible cenare o semplicemente bere o ordinare cibo da asporto.

Manuela Mameli, benché giovanissima, gode ormai di una certa notorietà sia nell’ambiente jazz sia in quello della musica tradizionale sarda, avendo all’attivo oltre dieci anni sui palchi di tutta l’isola e un’esperienza di diversi mesi in Svezia, durante la quale è stata anche selezionata da una radio di Los Angeles grazie ad alcuni video girati a Piteå e ha suscitato l’interesse di una casa discografica tedesca per alcuni progetti in studio. Apprezzatissima nel circuito dei locali cagliaritani da un nutrito pubblico di appassionati intenditori che la segue ormai con molto affetto, ha partecipato al Jazz Expo ed è stata più volte ospitata e intervistata sui media locali, in particolare Radio Press, Radio Golfo Degli Angeli, Radio Level One, oltre ad una partecipazione alla trasmissione “Anninnora” di Sardegna Uno.

Rubens Massidda studia chitarra classica con il maestro Massimo Ferra. Oltre ad aver frequentato diversi seminari e master class come quello di Nuoro Jazz, attualmente è iscritto al corso di laurea in chitarra jazz del Conservatorio di Cagliari. Durante la sua carriera si è cimentato in diversi generi musicali (Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, Folk). Ha partecipato, tra gli altri al Jazz Expo, il festival di musica sarda di Sestu, l’underground blues festival, Woman In Action, rassegna musica e arte svoltasi al museo Arca del Tempo a Settimo e altri. Collabora con un gran numero di musicisti affermati della scena sarda.
