Lunedì 19 atterra di nuovo a Cagliari l’alchimia esplosiva con cui il Duo Acustico formato da Manuela Mameli e Luca Faraone ha sbalordito e commosso tanti durante lo scorso autunno, imponendosi all’attenzione della night life cittadina e ritagliandosi un affezionato seguito di appassionati intenditori.

Musicista cagliaritano poco più che ventenne, ormai da parecchi mesi adottato dal circuito inglese, Luca, noncurante dell’eventuale jet lag ma semplicemente entusiasta come sempre di suonare, sarà felice di… non avere neanche il tempo di sbarcare all’aeroporto di Elmas e dover essere subito al Caffé Europa per ritrovare – per la primissima serata della sua breve settimana di pausa estiva in Sardegna – la sua degna partner di indimenticabili serate di musica dal vivo, Manuela Mameli, cantante ogliastrina del conservatorio Jazz di Cagliari che – benché giovanissima – ha all’attivo un’esperienza di diversi mesi in Svezia, varie partecipazioni in radio e tv locali anche con un brano di sua composizione, collaborazioni prestigiose con importanti nomi della scena jazz isolana, tra cui i pianisti Alessandro Diliberto, Sandro Mura dei Sunflower Quartet e il compositore australiano Peter Waters, nonché, nell’ambito della musica tradizionale sarda, più di dieci anni di concerti nelle piazze di tutta la regione, culminati, nella stagione in corso, in una tournée di spettacoli di ethnic pop incentrati sulla sua calda vocalità.

Talento in rapida crescita, quindi, Manuela, dalla scorsa estate, ha trovato in Luca il perfetto contraltare per le sue intense interpretazioni in acustico: dove l’una ha incantato con melodie soavi l’altro complottava con sotterranee insidie telluriche, l’una leniva con intonazioni vellutate i graffi inferti al pubblico dalle grintose unghiate dell’altro, che a sua volta, felpato, ha saputo intervenire con delicatezza di arpeggi avvolgenti lì dove Manuela è inquietudine e trepidazione.
Saporito interplay tra i due, note flautate che cinguettano parallele alle corde pizzicate da Luca, soluzioni inattese, improvvisate con sorprendente naturalezza, affascinanti giochi di crescendo e diminuendo capaci di inchiodare magneticamente al mutismo nel bel mezzo delle canzoni più impensabili. Una chitarra piegata con scioltezza totale alle esigenze della creatività estemporanea, capace di fare le parti di due o tre strumenti contemporaneamente, con le linee del basso separate dall’armonia e dalla ritmica, senza ricorso alla loop station.

Ormai apprezzato anche in Inghilterra dal raffinato pubblico delle jam session londinesi, Luca Faraone, rivelazione del circuito cagliaritano dello scorso anno, approccio immediato e spontaneo allo strumento e possesso intuitivo e naturale della grammatica musicale, dopo essersi cimentato con i più diversi artisti e vocalist del Regno Unito, non dimentica l’eccezionale feeling artistico con Manuela: una voce mozzafiato che più di una volta ha saputo dare anima e sostanza alle ispirazioni rocambolesche con cui l’acrobatico chitarrista è in grado di trasformare in deliziose sorprese anche le canzoni più semplici e banali, sfondandone i confini e facendosi aiutare da Manuela a scolpirle nel silenzio, quando diventa difficile avere orecchie per altro che per il serrato, tesissimo dialogo musicale tra i fraseggi dell’una che rincorrono con precisione le invenzioni dell’altro.

Non esistono repertori quando Luca e Manuela si incontrano: è tutto un capirsi al primo sguardo, ogni nota apparentemente fuori posto diventa in un attimo, senza volerlo, protagonista di una nuova fiaba melodica fuori programma, qualunque brano è un pretesto per emozionare: il pop italiano, quello internazionale, Sting e i Police, Stevie Wonder riportato ad un groove notevole per una rielaborazione in duo, perfino la musica disco rivisitata con eleganza in chiave acustica e, immancabile, la tradizione sarda in cui la vibrante solidità di Manuela si sposa meravigliosamente alla disinvolta fantasia di Luca, per generare pura poesia.

L’impeccabile sintonia con la chitarra di Luca è capace di portare Manuela dentro uno spazio magico in cui, con le vibrazioni del suo canto, riesce, di volta in volta, ad accarezzare il cuore o a scuotere e far tremare, come hanno potuto notare i tanti che hanno avuto il piacere di ascoltarli nei mesi passati.
