L’ISOLA DEI MORTI – EXMA’ – CAGLIARI – 15 DICEMBRE-6 GENNAIOTHE ISLAND OF THE DEAD – EXMA’ – CAGLIARI – DECEMBER 15 TO JANUARY 6

La mostra collettiva L’Isola dei Morti (Die Toteninsel), allestita nella Sala della Torretta del Centro Comunale d’Arte e Cultura Exmà a Cagliari, realizzata a cura di Roberta Vanali, presenta, sino al 6 gennaio 2013, opere realizzate ad hoc per il progetto.

Prendendo come riferimento L’Isola dei Morti di Arnold Böcklin nella sua esegesi formale e concettuale, 17 artisti di diversa provenienza territoriale e differenti background di appartenenza ne restituiscono una lettura che conferma la contemporaneità di un’opera che sembra essere eterna: Michele Andrich, Silvia Argiolas, Irene Balia, Antonio Bardino, Nicola Caredda, Piercarlo Carella, Andrea Carpita, Gianni Casagrande, Stefano Cozzolino, Elisa Desortes, Ester Grossi, Claudia Matta, Silvia Mei, Pastorello, Paolo Pibi, Giuliano Sale, Daniele Serra.

Arnold Böcklin dipinse 5 versioni dell’opera L’Isola dei morti dal 1880 al 1886 e artisti come Dalì, Munch e Giger ne diedero la loro interpretazione. Lo stesso artista descrive L’Isola dei morti come “un’immagine onirica: essa deve produrre un tale silenzio che il bussare alla porta dovrebbe fare paura”.

In data ancora da stabilire Carla Deplano (Associazione Babel) terrà una conferenza sul tema.

L’iniziativa è realizzata in collaborazione con il Consorzio Camù e il patrocinio del Comune di Cagliari.

The group exhibition The Isle of the Dead (Die Toteninsel), held in the Hall of the Tower Municipal Center for Art and Culture Exmà in Cagliari, created by Roberta Vanali, presents, until January 6, 2013, works created specifically for the project.

Taking as reference the Isle of the Dead Arnold Böcklin in his exegesis of formal and conceptual, 17 artists from different backgrounds and different geographical background which he belongs shall return a reading that confirms the contemporaneity of a work that seems to be eternal: Michele Andrich, Silvia Argiolas, Irene Nurse, Antonio Bardino, Nicola Caredda, Pier Carlo Carella, Andrea Carpita, Gianni Casagrande, Stefano Cozzolino, Elisa Desortes, Ester Grossi, Claudia Matta, Silvia Mei, Shepherd, Paul pibi, Julian Sale, Daniele Serra.

Arnold Böcklin painted five versions of the opera The Isle of the Dead from 1880 to 1886 and artists like Dali, Munch Giger and they gave their interpretation. The artist himself describes as The Island of the Dead “a dream image: it must generate so quiet that the knock on the door should be afraid.”

At a date yet to be determined Carla Deplano Association (Babel) will hold a conference on the subject.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Consortium Camu and sponsored by the City of Cagliari.
