Trovare un settore dello spettacolo in cui Lino Patruno non sia stato presente è praticamente impossibile; le sue esperienze vanno da quelle jazzistiche in concerto, in sala di registrazione, in TV a quelle di attore di cabaret, di teatro e di cinema; da leader di jazz band alla composizione di musiche da film e per il teatro; dal ruolo di sceneggiatore a quello di produttore cinematografico; da organizzatore di festival del jazz a presentatore e regista televisivo. Ha realizzato una serie di dischi e di programmi televisivi con alcuni fra i grandi interpreti della storia del Jazz: Albert Nicholas, Joe Venuti, Bill Coleman, Wingy Manone, Bud Freeman, Teddy Wilson, Peanuts Hucko, Bob Haggart, Dick Cary, Jimmy McPartland, Eddie Miller, Yank Lawson, Billy Butterfield, Bob Wilber, Spiegle Willcox, Dick Wellstood, Tony Scott, Bucky Pizzarelli, Wild Bill Davison, Kenny Davern, Barney Bigard, Pee Wee Erwin…
Nel 2001 ha ricevuto l’investitura di Accademico della Musica conferitogli dall’Accademia Europea per le Relazioni Economiche e Culturali e dal 2003 tiene seminari sulla Storia del Jazz (La Casa del Jazz, Università Tre di Roma) e sulla Storia delle Colonne Sonore da Film (Università del Cinema e della Televisione di Roma a Cinecittà).
Nel 2006 ha ricevuto il Globo d’Oro della Stampa Estera, il Premio Fregene per Fellini e la Nomination al David di Donatello per la migliore canzone originale per il film “Forever Blues” prodotto, interpretato e diretto da Franco Nero di cui è anche interprete.
Nel 2011 è stato invitato a rappresentare l’Italia al New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Finding the entertainment industry in which Lino Patruno was not available is practically impossible, his experiences range from jazz in concert, in the recording studio, on TV to those of stand-up comedian, theater and cinema as a leader of jazz band to the composition of music for films and theater, from the role of writer to that of film producer, as an organizer of festivals of jazz presenter and television director. Has created a series of disks and TV programs with some of the greatest performers in the history of Jazz: Albert Nicholas, Joe Venuti, Bill Coleman, Wingy Manone, Bud Freeman, Teddy Wilson, Peanuts Hucko, Bob Haggart, Dick Cary, Jimmy McPartland , Eddie Miller, Yank Lawson, Billy Butterfield, Bob Wilber, Spiegle Willcox, Dick Wellstood, Tony Scott, Bucky Pizzarelli, Wild Bill Davison, Kenny Davern, Barney Bigard, Pee Wee Erwin …
In 2001 he received the investiture of Academic Music conferred by the European Academy for Economic and Cultural Relations since 2003 and holds seminars on the History of Jazz (La Casa del Jazz, University of Roma Tre) and on the History of Soundtracks from Movies (University of Cinema and Television at Cinecittà in Rome).
In 2006 he received the Golden Globe Foreign Press Award for Fregene Fellini and the Nomination for the David di Donatello for Best Original Song for the film “Forever Blues” produced, starred and directed by Franco Nero which is also seen .
