LA SETTIMANA SANTA – FONNI – 24-31 MARZOTHE HOLY WEEK – FONNI – MARCH 24 TO 31

I riti della settimana santa rappresentano per la Comunità fonnese una vera e autentica tradizione che da secoli viene tramandata.
Esistono infatti a Fonni quattro confraternite, ognuna di esse rappresenta un priorato facente capo ad una delle quattro chiese due per ogni parrocchia che portano avanti con fede e dedizione tutta l’attività legata alla settimana santa, alle feste di giugno e alle feste di ogni singola chiesa per un intero anno dalla domenica delle palme e fino alla domenica delle palme dell’anno successivo.
La confraternita fa capo ad una famiglia che per devozione, per una promessa fatta “prende” il priorato e sceglie i componenti della confraternita tra persone legate per amicizia o per parentela alla famiglia stessa.
Sarà poi la confraternita, che si distingue nelle varie manifestazioni religiose a seconda del colore del mantello delle vesti, a collaborare nelle varie attività che sono a carico del priore. Durante la settimana santa l’attività delle confraternite è molto attiva nel rappresentare in modo anche coreografico la passione di Cristo.
Il Programma relativo alle funzioni della Settimana Santa essendo presenti a Fonni due Parrocchie, quella di Santa Maria dei Martiri e quella di San Giovanni viene in qualche modo doppiato nelle due parrocchie e prende avvio :

• Domenica delle Palme con celebrazione e benedizione delle palme

• Giovedì santo alle ore 17.00 con il rito della Lavanda dei piedi

• Venerdì mattina alle ore 9.00 la Via Crucis per le vie del paese con partenza dalla Basilica dei Martiri

• Venerdì pomeriggio alle 18.00 la Liturgia della Croce consistente nella messa in croce di Gesù

• Venerdì notte ore 21.00 nella Parrocchia San Giovanni “S’Iscravamentu” o Deposizione di Gesù dalla croce e conseguente sepoltura di Gesù accompagnata dalla corale maschile che eseguirà i “Gosos” della Settimana Santa

• Venerdì notte ore 21.00 nella Basilica dei Martiri Rito della sepoltura di Gesù.

• Sabato notte ore 22.00 Veglia Pasquale e benedizione dell’acquas e del fuoco

• Domenica mattina ore 10.00 il rito de “S’ Incontru” e celebrazione della Messa Pasquale nella Parrocchia di San Giovanni Battista e Basilica Santa Maria dei Martiri

Tutte le funzioni sono accompagnate dai particolari canti della Settimana Santa e la processioni del venerdì dai suoni delle “matraccole “ e da “sas arraneddas” strumenti che sostituiscono il suono delle campane che tacciono da giovedì sera e fino alla veglia pasquale e con i quali i bambini precedono la processione de “S’Interru “ funerale di Gesù

The rites of the Holy Week in the Community fonnese represent a true and authentic tradition that has been handed down for centuries.
There are in fact in Fonni four brotherhoods, each representing a priory headed by one of the four churches, two in each parish who carry on with faith and devotion all the activities related to Holy Week, at parties and festivals in June of each church for an entire year after Palm Sunday Palm Sunday until the following year.
The Brotherhood belongs to a family of devotion, for a promise “takes” the priory and chooses the members of the brotherhood between related persons for friendship or relationship to the family.
It will then be the Brotherhood, which stands in the various religious events, depending on the coat color of the clothes, to work in the various activities that are dependent on the prior. During Holy Week the activities of the brotherhoods is very active in representing so well choreographed the passion of Christ.
The Program on the functions of Holy Week being present in Fonni two parishes, that of Santa Maria of the Martyrs and St. John is somehow doubled in the two parishes and begins:

• Palm Sunday with the celebration and blessing of the palms

• Holy Thursday at 17.00 with the rite of the washing of the feet

• Friday morning at 9.00 am the Way of the Cross through the streets of the country starting from the Basilica of the Martyrs

• Friday afternoon at 18.00 the Liturgy of the Cross in providing consistent cross of Jesus

• Friday night at 21.00 in the Parish of San Giovanni “S’Iscravamentu” or Descent of Jesus from the cross and subsequent burial of Jesus accompanied by a male choir that will perform the “Gosos” Holy Week

• Friday night at 21.00 in the Basilica of the Martyrs rite of burial of Jesus

• Saturday night 22.00 pm Easter Vigil Mass and blessing of the fire and dell’acquas

• Sunday morning at 10:00 the rite of “S ‘Incontru” and celebration of Easter Mass in the Parish of St. John the Baptist and St. Mary’s Basilica of the Martyrs

All functions are accompanied by special songs and processions of Holy Week on Friday by the sounds of “matraccole” and “sas arraneddas” tools that replace the sound of the bells are silent from Thursday evening until the Easter Vigil and with which children before the procession of “S’Interru” funeral of Jesus
