Per la prima volta sul palco del Jambalaya potremo apprezzare Kay Foster Jackson, cantante originaria di Nashville. Figlia di Malvin Jackson, da più di 20 anni sassofonista di B.B. King, è cresciuta cantando e collaborando col grande maestro. E’ in grado di spaziare senza problemi fra jazz e blues, soul e gospel, genere quest’ultimo che continua a praticare ancor oggi, dirigendo ad Atlanta il coro Word of Praise Church of God in Christ, con cui si è esibita sia in ogni angolo degli Stati Uniti che in Europa.

Kay Foster Jackson Kay Foster Jackson partecipato a importanti festival in Italia e in Europa, dividendo il palco con musicisti di fama internazionale come Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bo Diddley, Scott Henderson, Clarke Terry, Jimmy Owens, Robin Brown, Sandra Hall “Empress of the Blues”, Cheryl Nickerson, The Friendly Travelers, Jackie Lee dei Soul Stirrers.

Grazie alla voce intensa ed espressiva e alla raffinata musicalità che le consentono di spaziare con disinvoltura e naturalezza fra stili musicali diversi, oltre al gospel, che rimane la sua più grande passione, Kay è una affermata interprete di blues, soul e jazz. La sua arte affonda le radici nella tradizione più genuina della musica nera del sud degli Stati Uniti, dove il canto è strumento fondamentale per evocare l’emozione umana nel modo più diretto e prorompente. Grazie ad una vibrante potenza vocale ed interpretativa, Kay Foster Jackson riesce nei suoi concerti a trasmettere ogni volta grande calore e una rigenerante carica di gioia. A suonare con lei nel quartetto, un talento italiano della chitarra jazz e blues, il cremonese Carmelo Tartamella, considerato dalla critica musicale uno dei più versatili e preparati chitarristi attualmente in scena.

For the first time on stage at the Jambalaya we appreciate Kay Foster Jackson, singer originally from Nashville. Daughter of Malvin Jackson for more than 20 years saxophonist BB King grew up singing and collaborating with the great master. Thanks to a vibrant vocal power and interpretive, Kay Foster Jackson manages to convey in his concerts whenever great warmth and a refreshing joy of charge.
