La Stagione concertistica 2014 del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari prosegue, venerdì 14 marzo alle 20.30 (turno A) e sabato 15 marzo alle 19 (turno B), con il settimo appuntamento: David LeviDavid Levi, presenza apprezzata e gradita delle stagioni musicali cagliaritane, dirige l’Orchestra del Teatro Lirico in un accattivante programma, di matrice squisitamente americana. Solista d’eccezione lo strepitoso Signum Saxophone Quartet (Blaž Kemperle sassofono soprano, Erik Nestler sassofono alto, Alan Lužar sassofono tenore, David Brand sassofono baritono), giovane ed acclamato ensemble che raccoglie unanimi consensi di pubblico e critica.

Il concerto ̬ interamente incentrato su autori americani ed un mondo musicale di grande suggestione e calore: apre la serata la preziosa Cuban Overture di George Gershwin (New York, 1898 РBeverly Hills, California, 1937), una vera e propria festa di ritmi caraibici e si prosegue con Rhythm of the Americas, per quartetto di sassofoni e orchestra, brano del celebre jazzista Bob Mintzer (New Rochelle, New York, 1953) ed occasione unica per ascoltare un complesso strumentale dalla timbrica accattivante. La seconda parte prevede il celebre Adagio per archi op. 11 di Samuel Barber (West Chester, Pennsylvania, 1910 РNew York, 1981) e lo spettacolare An American in Paris di George Gershwin.

La Stagione concertistica 2014 si avvale del contributo della Fondazione Banco di Sardegna.
