Il sud del mondo ha casa in tutti i punti cardinali: dietro la porta delle nostre case, nei manicomi, dove persino, soprattutto, i poeti sono stati imprigionati. Il sud ha casa tra i lavoratori disperati, che oggi come ieri vedono negati identità, diritti e dignità… Il sud è la guerra, la lotta per la libertà, per il riconoscimento di identità collettive; la guerra e le piccole vittime scomposte in brandelli; la guerra e le sue vedove bianche, che ricamano un’attesa senza fine. Il sud sono le donne, scudi umani alla follia del potere; sono le rose non sbocciate delle esistenze senza nome. La musica, lieve come un fuscello, passa sul sale delle ferite, mitigando il dolore dell’anima. La musica e la poesia, che parlano lingue sorelle, nutrono l’anima della collettività. Il riscatto di un popolo passa anche attraverso parole e note, che gridano al mondo la sua rabbia e cullano le sue notti, restituendogli dignità e legittimandolo. G.V.

The southern hemisphere has no home at all points of the compass: behind the doors of our homes, asylums, where even most importantly, the poets were imprisoned. The south house among workers desperate, today as yesterday being denied identity, rights and dignity … The south is the war, the fight for freedom, for the recognition of collective identities, the war and the child victims decomposed into shreds; the war and its white widows, who embroider endless wait. The south are women, human shields to the madness of power, are not roses bloomed existences nameless. The music, light as a twig, pass the salt of the wounds, relieving the pain of the soul. The music and poetry, language speaking sisters, nourish the soul of the community. The redemption of a people pass through words and notes, shouting to the world his anger and cradling his nights, restoring dignity and legitimize it. G.V.
