The project started in 2003 as a doctoral thesis on orchestrating the three years of Charles Mingus Jazz Conservatory, and consisted of a suite in seven movements (called precisely “Open Letter to Mingus”), with variable organic : bass flute and drums trio from all’undicimino combo, brass and string quartet.
The repertoire, completely original, but has even more ancient origin, and is the result of hours, days, months and years of tests with three wonderful friends and musicians who are the drummer Roberto Migoni, flutist and pianist Daniel Pasini Andrea Cocco, in addition to the direct or indirect lessons received from your friend, colleague and teacher Massimo “Maso Spano” and the Magister, and thesis supervisor, Massimo Tore.

Many years later, at the end of 2011, work was finally recorded (thanks to the immense contribution of Raffaele Pilia Marti and Jane Robertson) with an education equal for organic, but with some different musicians.
In fact the original plan remained only Migoni Roberto, Daniel Pasini, Gianluca Mauro Piras and Alessandro Diliberto Pischedda were added to the piano and Sebastiano Meloni, Stefano D’Anna on sax, Simon Floris the clarinets and a new string trio consisting of Elsa Paglietti, Simone and Angela Gold Zienko.
For this concert will be training instead of a piano quintet, double bass, sax and flute and will perform an excerpt of the disc as well as a few tracks taken from the traditional jazz repertoire.
