GAMES OF THE 2012 ISLANDS 24-26 MAY

The tender period will be opened and closed by impressive ceremonies, hosted the athletics stadium in Cagliari and focused on the best forms of art and music sardines.
The mascot of the Games will Pramino, son of the island’s ancient history. It is a modern and playful reworking of the Giants Mont’e Prama, monolithic sculptures casually found Oristano and presumably dating to the period between the tenth and eighth centuries BC. Pramino is much inspired by the shapes of the boxer and the archer whose resumes be two concentric circles of the eyes and horned helmet.

The event, supported by the Department of Sport of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, in cooperation with the cities of Cagliari, Sassari and Alghero is a unique opportunity to promote the whole of Sardinia.
