L’evento, organizzato dall’Amministrazione comunale e dalla Fondazione Meta, è previsto per le 22.30 del 15 agosto al porto. Il tema richiama un mito legato alla città.

Dopo dieci anni di assenza, tornano a brillare nel cielo della Riviera i tradizionali fuochi di ferragosto. Il Comune ha deciso di recuperare lo spettacolo pirotecnico che ha reso famosa la città nel periodo d’oro del turismo, un appuntamento atteso da residenti e ospiti che, per motivi di sicurezza, a partire dal 2002 era stato rinviato a settembre, in occasione della Festa di San Michele, patrono di Alghero. I giochi pirici di mezza estate, insieme al Capodanno, rappresentavano il fiore all’occhiello della programmazione annuale e in molti non si erano rassegnati a dover rinunciare alla performance di luci e colori sul mare che, di fatto, fa parte della storia della città.

RITORNO AL PASSATO «Il ritorno alla tradizione ci è stato chiesto continuamente da tantissimi algheresi che vogliono recuperare l’appuntamento di metà agosto – ha spiegato il sindaco Stefano Lubrano – ma oltre a questo aspetto affettivo c’è anche un importante risvolto di tipo promozionale che lo spettacolo pirotecnico rappresenta per Alghero». L’evento, organizzato dall’Amministrazione comunale e dalla Fondazione Meta, è previsto per 22.30 del 15 agosto presso l’area portuale. Il tema proposto richiama una leggenda, un mito legato alla città, raccontato e rappresentato attraverso i fuochi pirotecnici. La ditta “Piano Egidio Fuochi d’Artificio”, leader nel settore, cercherà di riproporre lo stemma di Alghero sopra il cielo del lungomare.

SPETTACOLO STRAORDINARIO L’impatto scenico sarà forte, ha assicurato Salvatore Mulas, memoria storica dei fuochi pirici algheresi e componente del Cda della Meta. «Grazie alla potenza dei fuochi, lo spettacolo sarà visibile da qualsiasi parte del golfo, nelle spiagge e in città. Non sarà quindi necessario riversarsi nell’area portuale per vedere i giochi di luci e di colori che si preannunciano straordinari».

Pietro Alfonso, presidente della Fondazione, nel sottolineare l’aspetto culturale del fuochi di ferragosto ha pure evidenziato che gli imprenditori della vacanza potranno fare leva sull’evento per vendere meglio la destinazione Alghero. Le coreografie studiate saranno caratterizzate dal colore verde che richiama le due fronde di palma presenti nello stemma della città e dall’esplosione di luci dorate e rosse come il corallo.
