Il 2 e 3 novembre 2013 sul campo centrale del Tennis Club Cagliari, Italia e Russia si sfideranno nella finale della 50° Fed Cup, quinta finale in otto anni con tre vittorie nel 2006, 2009 e 2010, nel remake della finale già disputata nel 2007 e persa a Mosca dalle azzurre per 4-0.

Per Errani-Vinci-Pennetta-Schiavone sarà una rivincita anche rispetto allo 0-5 di Mosca della semifinale 2011 che interruppe tre anni di imbattibilità della nostra Nazionale femminile: allora, come nel prossimo autunno, non ci sarà la Sharapova a difendere i colori della Russia. Le azzurre, travolte sul cemento indoor, avranno la possibilità di rifarsi su una superficie a loro più consona, la terra rossa, e dare così la caccia al quarto titolo nelle ultime otto edizioni (nel 2006, 2009 e 2010 gli altri trionfi).

For Errani-Vinci-Schiavone-Pennetta will be a rematch even compared to the 0-5 semi-final in Moscow 2011, which broke a three-year unbeaten run of our National Women’s: then, as in the fall, there will be Sharapova to defend the colors of the Russia. The blue, swept away on indoor hard, will have the opportunity to rebuild on a surface more suited to them, the red earth, and thus give the hunt for the fourth title in the last eight editions (in 2006, 2009 and 2010, other triumphs).
