FESTHA MANNA 2014: LA FESTA DEI SANTI MARTIRI TRA FEDE E TRADIZIONE
Dal 7 al 9 giugno i riti di fede per i Santi Gavino, Proto e Gianuario. Per tutto il mese spazio anche alla cultura e allo sport.

Un legame antico che si rinnova ogni anno attraverso i riti della fede, le tradizioni e le celebrazioni. I simulacri dei Santi Martiri Turritani, che dal 3 maggio si trovano nell’ipogeo della Chiesa di Balai vicino, ritorneranno l’8 giugno, giorno di Pentecoste, nella Basilica romanica di San Gavino. Migliaia di fedeli e pellegrini parteciperanno alle funzioni religiose in onore di Gavino, Proto e Gianuario. Il culto dei santi, decapitati nel 303 d.C., dopo millesettecento anni è ancora vivo e ben radicato, non solo a Porto Torres.

«La festa coinvolge tutti i fedeli della diocesi e della Provincia – ha affermato questa mattina Don Mario Tanca, parroco della Basilica di San Gavino, durante la conferenza stampa di presentazione dell’edizione 2014 della Festha Manna – e i pellegrinaggi verso i luoghi di culto ne sono una testimonianza. La Festha Manna per i Martiri Turritani è ancora oggi un appuntamento religioso, culturale e sociale capace di rinsaldare e perpetuare le nostre radici». L’assessore allo Spettacolo, Costantino Ligas, ha illustrato gli eventi collaterali che per tutto il mese contribuiranno ad animare la città. «L’amministrazione comunale promuoverà numerose proposte sportive, culturali e di spettacolo realizzate in sinergia con le realtà locali, spalmate su tutto il mese di giugno. Faranno da contorno ai riti e alle tradizioni, che sono il fulcro dei festeggiamenti. Non bisogna perdere di vista il vero significato di un evento che si ripete da secoli, forse troppo spesso messo, colpevolmente, in secondo piano dagli aspetti commerciali».

I RITI DELLA FEDE
I riti della fede cominciano sabato notte, con l’arrivo dei pellegrini da Sassari e dai centri dell’hinterland, previsto attorno alle 3 del mattino e seguito dalla Santa Messa in Basilica. Il Cammino notturno per i Santi Martiri Turritani ha origini molto antiche: il percorso si snoda lungo la Strada statale 131, mentre in passato seguiva l’ultimo tratto dell’antica strada romana a Karalibus Turrem, l’arteria che collegava Turris Libisonis con Karales (oggi Cagliari). Domenica 8 giugno i simulacri dei Santi, che dal 3 maggio si trovano nell’ipogeo della Chiesa di Balai Vicino, verranno riaccompagnati in processione alla Basilica di San Gavino. Alla processione, oltre alla popolazione e alle autorità civili, militari e religiose, parteciperanno i gruppi in costume provenienti da tutta l’Isola e le delegazioni dei Comuni uniti dal culto per San Gavino. Sull’altare della chiesa millenaria di Monte Angellu si svolge il lunedì dopo Pentecoste l’ultimo rituale: davanti al sindaco di Sassari, al sindaco di Porto Torres e al vescovo dell’Archidiocesi di Sassari avviene la riconsegna delle chiavi della Basilica al parroco. Il passaggio delle chiavi fra la municipalità sassarese, che in passato aveva la cura dell’intero complesso religioso, e il parroco di San Gavino, è un rito che risale a diversi secoli fa, quando la consegna delle chiavi all’autorità cittadina e l’immediata riconsegna al parroco era segno del riconoscimento della buona conservazione e della cura del complesso religioso. Al termine si svolgerà la processione che attraverserà il Corso Vittorio Emanuele e che si concluderà al porto, dove l’Arcivescovo impartirà la benedizione del mare.

GLI APPUNTAMENTI CON LA TRADIZIONE
Gli appuntamenti con la tradizione della Festha Manna cominciano sabato: la cultura marinara di Porto Torres rivive grazie alla Regata del Pescatore (7 giugno) e al Palio Remiero (8 giugno), nella baia dello Scogliolungo. Domenica sera, al termine della Processione che riaccompagna i simulacri dei Martiri in Basilica, nell’Atrio Metropoli inizierà la manifestazione Lu Pathiu di Santu Bainzu in festha, con le danze tradizionali in onore dei tre Santi. Lunedì 9 giugno, nella piazza della Renaredda farà capolino la megapadella per la Sagra del Pesce: la frittura da record comincerà già all’ora di pranzo. I festeggiamenti legati alla tradizione avranno una coda il 22 giugno con il Palio di Santu Bainzu, corsa all’anello che si terrà in via Mare, seguita dallo show musicale di Maria Giovanna Cherchi e Giuliano Marongiu.

GLI SPETTACOLI
I principali eventi di spettacolo si terranno in piazza Umberto I da sabato 7 a lunedì 9: il 7 giugno Alessandro Azara e la sua band proporranno il “Tributo a Rino Gaetano”; l’8 giugno è in programma l’appuntamento con il cabaret dei Tressardi in “Tressardi e Quattro More”; il 9 giugno il gruppo Anime Salve presenta lo spettacolo “Banditi e campioni”, un omaggio alla musica di Fabrizio De Andrè. La pesca, il mare, le tradizioni e la cultura marinara. Ritorna la Regata del Pescatore, rievocazione storica patrocinata dal Comune di Porto Torres e a cura di Assovela Porto Torres che quest’anno ospiterà anche un equipaggio composto da studenti dell’Università di Sassari.
