Brusa la vecia è la festa contadina che ogni anno si svolge in occasione della Befana, e che i coloni del Veneto hanno portato ad Arborea da oltre settanta anni. Una grande festa di canti, balli , tavole imbandite e soprattutto grandi falò dei fantocci della Befana che brucieranno per due giorni.

A seconda della direzione delle faville di fuoco, si trarranno gli auspici per il futuro. Il proverbio infatti recita: “Vento a ponente panoce (pannocchie) niente, vento a levante panoce tante”.
