The cave of Santa Barbara is located inside the mine of St. John and was discovered accidentally in 1952 during the excavation of the mine.

What makes it a unique site is the formation of barite that completely covers the walls. Go up in the elevator inside the mountain, which we reached after a short trip on the train wagons to the mine. Will end with a visit to the mining tunnel.

If time permits for those who want to follow a pleasant walk on the Mount St. John, the hosts on the inside, where we will cross areas of old mining excavations in the caves of Pisa and the latest evidence of the work of mine, in a contrast between nature and land use is made even more poignant by the background that do everything the west coast.
