A luglio la 31° edizione del Festival Internazionale Jazz in Sardegna con l’European Jazz Expo

Dal 23 al 28 luglio il Jazz a Cagliari si fa nei parchi con i grandi Maestri e con le Signore della scena internazionale.
Da lunedì 29 aprile parte la prevendita.

Dal 23 al 28 luglio 2013 torneranno  a Cagliari il Festival Internazionale Jazz in Sardegna e l’European Jazz Expo, con il loro format innovativo che ne ha consolidato  il successo e l’apprezzamento a livello internazionale: 6 palchi, oltre trenta concerti, showcase, seminari, incontri, ospiti internazionali, addetti ai lavori e operatori del settore da tutto il mondo, aree ristoro e una veste sempre più rinnovata.
Principali novità: il ritorno della manifestazione nel periodo estivo, tradizionale collocazione annuale del festival nei primi vent’anni, e la disponibilità  della nuova location del Parco della Musica, che si aggiungerà a quella ormai consueta del Parco di Monte Claro.

Sarà proprio l’Arena di 2500 posti a sedere appositamente allestita nel Parco della Musica ad ospitare, dal 24 al 26 luglio i principali eventi in programma con le grandi star della musica jazz internazionale.
Nella nuova oasi urbana sorta nel centro della città, destinata, con la sua offerta qualificata di spazi, a diventare il nucleo dell’attività musicale cagliaritana, si succederanno:

-    mercoledì 24 luglio, alle 21.00 Hiromi con The Trio Project. La formidabile compositrice e pianista jazz giapponese che sta incantando il pubblico e la critica ovunque nel mondo per il suo talento e la sua energia creativa che sfidano tutte le convenzioni del jazz, arriva Cagliari con un trio al fulmicotone insieme a Steve Smith (batteria) e Anthony Jackson (basso) due pezzi da novanta della scena statunitense e internazionale, da non perdere. Con il trio la pianista nipponica presenta “Move”, l’ultimo disco.
Alle 22.30 il grande trombettista e compositore americano Randy Brecker con la sua reunion della storica band funk e jazz-fusion “Brecker’s Brothers”, la formazione che ripercorre le grandi tappe segnate con il fratello Mike scomparso di recente, che ha prodotto tantissimi dischi dagli anni ’70 sino al 1990. Nella sua carriera straordinaria Randy ha suonato con i giganti del jazz e della fusion mondiale: da Billy Cobham, Lou Reed, Jaco Pastorius, Frank Zappa, Charles Mingus. Un musicista molto apprezzato per la sua versatilità e il suo eccezionale talento.

-    giovedì 25 luglio alle 21.00 ACS, il trio straordinario, elegante, sperimentale, intenso, che estende i confini del jazz e raccoglie tre delle più importanti musiciste femminili del jazz attuale: Geri Allen (piano), Terry Lyne Carrington (batteria) e la sorprendente giovanissima bassista, compositrice e vocalist statunitense Esperanza Spalding che ha catturato l’attenzione del mondo guadagnandosi il titolo di Best New Artist al 53° Annual Grammy Awards.
Alle 22.30 ritorna Enrico Rava con la PMJL (Parco della Musica Jazz Lab), musicista di fama internazionale, osannato sia dalla critica che dal pubblico, con il nuovo progetto “Lester! Omaggio a Lester Bowie” stavolta in memoria di un altro genio del Novecento, uno dei trombettisti e compositori tra i più rivoluzionari del jazz contemporaneo e leader dei leggendari Art Ensemble of Chicago.

-    venerdì 26 luglio alle 21.00 la partecipazione straordinaria di Irene Grandi, voce tra le più brillanti della musica italiana, nel progetto esclusivo “Cinecittà”, accompagnata da nomi prestigiosi della scena nazionale come Rita Marcotulli (piano), Ares Tavolazzi (contrabbasso), Alfredo Golino (batteria) e Stefano Cantini (sassofono).
Alle 22.15 la dirompente energia di Goran Bregovic e la sua Orchestra Balcanica per un grande concerto di chiusura del festival al Parco della Musica: le sonorità di una fanfara tzigana con le polifonie tradizionali bulgare, chitarre elettriche e percussioni tradizionali con delle accentuazioni rock, daranno vita ad una musica che sembra istintivamente di riconoscere e alla quale non sarà possibile resistere.

Per questi eventi, che saranno gli unici con ingresso a pagamento, si apre da domani la prevendita dei biglietti e degli abbonamenti. I prezzi degli abbonamenti per le tre giornate partono da 40.00€ (Ersu); 45.00€ (Carta Giovani) e 50.00€ (Intero). Il costo del biglietto giornaliero è di 25.00 €.

In July, the 31 th edition of the International Festival of Jazz in Sardinia with the European Jazz Expo

From 23 to 28 July 2013 will return to the Festival International Jazz Cagliari in Sardinia and the European Jazz Expo, with their innovative format that has consolidated the success and appreciation at the international level: 6 stages, over thirty concerts, showcases, seminars, meetings, international guests, experts and practitioners from around the world, dining areas and a robe increasingly renewed.
Major new features: the return of the event in the summer, traditional place annual festival in the early twenties, and the availability of the new location of the Parco della Musica, which will be added to the usual one of the Park of Monte Claro.

It will be the arena of 2500 seats specially set up in the Music Park to host 24 to 26 July the main events scheduled with the big stars of the jazz world.
In the new urban oasis built in the city center, designed with its qualified offer of spaces, to become the core of the musical Cagliari, it will happen:

- Wednesday, July 24, at 21.00 with Hiromi The Trio Project. The formidable Japanese jazz composer and pianist who is charming audiences and critics worldwide for his talent and his creative energy that challenges all the conventions of jazz, Cagliari comes with a trio guncotton with Steve Smith (drums) and Anthony Jackson (bass) Two heavyweights of U.S. and international scene, do not miss. With the trio the Japanese pianist presents “Move”, the last album.
At 22.30 the great trumpeter and American composer Randy Brecker with his reunion of the band funk and jazz-fusion “Brecker’s Brothers”, the training that follows the major stages marked with his brother Mike died recently, which has produced a large number of records from the years 70’s until 1990. - Thursday, July 25 at 21.00 ACS, the trio extraordinary, elegant, experimental, intense, that stretches the boundaries of jazz and collects the three most important female jazz musicians present: Geri Allen (piano), Terry Lyne Carrington (drums) and the amazing young bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding American who captured the world’s attention earning the title of Best New Artist at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.
At 22.30 back with Enrico Rava PMJL (Parco della Musica Jazz Lab), an internationally acclaimed musician, acclaimed by critics and audiences, with the new project “Lester! Homage to Lester Bowie” this time in memory of another genius of the twentieth century , one of the trumpet players and composers of the most revolutionary of contemporary jazz and leader of the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago.

- Friday, July 26 at 21.00 the extraordinary participation of Irene Grandi, one of the most brilliant voice of Italian music in the exclusive project “Cinecittà”, accompanied by prestigious names of the national scene as Rita Marcotulli (piano), Ares Tavolazzi (bass), Alfredo Golino (drums) and Stefano Cantini (saxophone).
At 22.15 the explosive energy of Goran Bregovic and his Orchestra Balkan for a great closing concert of the festival at the Music Park: the sounds of a gypsy brass band with traditional Bulgarian polyphony, electric guitars and percussion with traditional emphases of the rock, will create a music that seems to instinctively recognize and to which you can not resist.
