Dopo WhatsApp, Line, Viber, WeChat, Skype ecco Telegram.
Telegram è la nuova creatura dei fratelli Nikolai e Pavel Durov, fondatori del più popolare social network russo, Vkontakte, in realtà lanciata nell’ agosto 2013 per iPhone e a ottobre per Android, e gestita da un team di base a Berlino.

Nel funzionamento è sostanzialmente uguale a WhatsApp.

Un aspetto positivo è la velocità: i server dell’app sono distribuiti nel mondo e questo significa più velocità, quindi tempi di consegna dei messaggi minimi, e massima sicurezza.

Ma le differenze, soprattutto per quanto riguarda gli aspetti di privacy, sono enormi. Open source, cloud based (cioè i messaggi si leggono da qualsiasi dispositivo) e realizzato sfruttando una rete di server distribuiti per il mondo, Telegram offre agli utenti la possibilità di conversare in sicurezza  –  i messaggi sono criptati  –  e di costruire chat di gruppo fino a 200 membri.

Tutto gratis: il  boom degli ultimi giorni dovuto al flop improvviso di Whatsapp, sembra dunque non solo il frutto dei timori degli utenti, con relativa fuga verso altri servizi simili, dopo l’acquisizione di WhatsApp da parte di Facebook per 19 miliardi di dollari.
