ECCO LA RIVOLUZIONE DI VIA ROMA A CAGLIARI, ENTRO IL 2017 LA NUOVA PIAZZA SUL PORTOHERE IS THE REVOLUTION OF VIA ROMA CAGLIARI, 2017 BY THE NEW SQUARE ON THE PORT

I lavori cominciati ieri in via Roma sono solo il primo di una serie di interventi che riguarderanno l’area da qui al 2017, quando la “piazza sul porto” sarà completamente rivoluzionata:
– La metropolitana di superficie transiterà nell’attuale corsia dei bus che saranno spostati sul lato portici.
– La corsia più vicina ai portici potrà essere utilizzata da commercianti e ristoratori per sistemare tavoli, ombrelloni e contenitori-vetrine.
– La corsia centrale, oggi invasa dalle auto, diventerà un giardino.

LE NOVITÀ Non cambia tutto, ma cambia moltissimo e lo farà entro il 2017, anche se fra un anno le novità già concluse saranno diverse, compresi i lavori che spettano al Comune per rendere possibile il transito della metro nell’attuale corsia dei bus, sul lato porto. I bus sono stati spostati sul lato portici, per consentire nei prossimi sei mesi di ristrutturare la corsia sul lato porto e di rafforzarne le fondamenta. Nella seconda fase i bus torneranno su quella corsia e, dal momento in cui transiterà la metro, saranno definitivamente assegnati al lato portici. La corsia centrale, ora parcheggio, sarà un giardino, proprio come piazza Matteotti (d’intesa con Trenitalia che ne è proprietaria) e piazza Ingrao, tra viale Regina Margherita e via Roma.

I PARCHEGGI Archiviata per sempre l’idea dei posteggi interrati in via Roma «che sarebbero costati dieci milioni», commenta il sindaco, nel menu ci sono parcheggi a due piani non interrati dietro il palazzo comunale di via Sonnino (passeranno da 250 a 400), nello spiazzo tra il Cis e il Banco di Sardegna in viale Bonaria (da 150 diventeranno 300) e, se Trenitalia confermerà i propri intenti, anche in piazza Matteotti, dove i 660 posteggi potrebbero diventare circa 1.300. Sarà sfruttato l’autosilo in via Caprera (500 stalli).

LE ROTATORIE Spostate le auto in sosta tutt’attorno a via Roma, il traffico sarà più snello (ci sarà anche la metro) e altre modifiche lo renderanno ancora più fluido. La rotatoria al molo Ichnusa, in viale Colombo, ha portato enormi vantaggi, così come quella in piazza Costituzione. Un’altra è in arrivo tra via Sassari e viale La Playa, assieme a quelle in via Tramontana (incrocio con Ponte Vittorio), piazza d’Armi e via della Pineta (all’Amsicora), già appaltata. Un’altra ancora sarà realizzata tra viale Diaz e via del Cimitero, di fronte al Mediterraneo.

IL SALOTTO Tutto questo, servirà anche per rendere via Roma (tutta in basoli, che compariranno anche nel Largo, nel Corso, nelle vie Manno, Garibaldi, Alghero, nelle piazze Gramsci e Costituzione) un salotto. Nella versione definitiva, il traffico di passaggio transiterà sul lato porto e la metropolitana sull’attuale corsia dei bus che saranno spostati oltre il giardinetto centrale sul lato dei portici, riservato anche al traffico locale della Marina. Davanti ai porticati, bar e ristoranti potranno sistemare tavoli e ombrelloni rigorosamente uguali sulla corsia più a destra in direzione del Municipio, dove i commercianti potranno allestire contenitori-vetrine, sullo stile berlinese. The middle lane, parking now, it will be a garden, just like Piazza Matteotti (in agreement with Trenitalia who owns it) and square Ingrao, between Viale Regina Margherita and Via Roma.
