Fine settimana carico di musica, a Bauladu: venerdì e sabato (12 e 13 luglio), nel paese in provincia di Oristano, a metà strada tra Cagliari e Sassari, ritorna il ‘DU – Bauladu Music Festival, uno degli appuntamenti più attesi dal pubblico giovanile nel panorama dell’estate musicale in Sardegna.

Giunta al traguardo della sua quinta edizione la manifestazione raddoppia, passando da una a due intense serate, con undici set a succedersi in tre diverse fasce orarie e in altrettanti spazi: il centro storico del paese, “teatro” delle esibizioni unplugged in programma alle 18:30; il main stage, il palco principale per i concerti della fascia serale (a partire dalle 21:30), allestito all’anfiteatro comunale, negli oltre 12.000 mq di verde del parco di San Lorenzo, dove trova la sua collocazione anche lo spazio after stage dedicato ai dopoconcerto.

Marlene Kuntz, Salmo, Sick Tamburo e LNRipley sono i protagonisti in arrivo dall’altra parte del mare, ma ci sarà il giusto spazio anche per la scena musicale sarda con Raw Rave Groove, Plasma Expander, Beeside, Grandmother Safari, Sugubambu e con i dj set del Blueroom Collective e di ARPxp + Maurs, a comporre un cartellone variegato per generi e stili, sonorità e atmosfere.

Il programma di venerdì

La quinta edizione del ‘DU – Bauladu Music Festival prende il via venerdì (12 luglio) alle 18.30 con un doppio appuntamento nell’extra stage in via Gramsci. Apre Beeside, nome d’arte di Federico Pazzona, cantautore sassarese, classe 1980, che l’anno scorso ha firmato il suo esordio discografico con “Mood Spirals” per l’etichetta indipendente Seahorse: un progetto per voce e chitarra che si muove con freschezza fra canzone d’autore e folk di matrice inglese. Dal capoluogo sardo arrivano poi i Grandmother Safari, di scena a Bauladu grazie al progetto Cagliari 4 Booking, promosso dal Comune di Cagliari per supportare i nuovi talenti musicali locali. Rock, psichedelia, prog e atmosfere jazz sono i paesaggi sonori tra cui spaziano Omar Cappai alla chitarra, Alessandro Colarossi alla tromba e ai synth, Mario Mereu al piano e synth, Federico Mainardi al basso e Daniele Arca alla batteria.

Alle 21.30 si accendono i riflettori sul main stage all’anfiteatro comunale: primi a salire sul palco centrale del festival gli oristanesi Raw Rave Groove, un quartetto che partendo dalle sonorità garage e blues-punk degli esordi è approdato a un rock psichedelico fatto di lunghi delay e riverberi.

Con il secondo set si entra nel vivo della serata, scaldata dall’elettrizzante atmosfera new-punk dei Sick Tamburo, una delle band più originali dell’underground italiano: reduci da una decennale militanza nei Prozac+, sotto le sue insegne di riconoscono Gian Maria Accusani (alias Mr.Man, chitarra e voce) e Elisabetta Imelio (Boom Girl, voce). Nati nel 2007, i Sick Tamburo hanno pubblicato per La Tempesta Dischi il primo album omonimo nel 2009, seguito nel 2011 dal più melodico A.I.U.T.O., e, nel 2012, dall’EP La mia mano sola.

L’ultimo atto della serata inaugurale del festival chiama sul palco centrale una formazione di culto nel panorama del rock indipendente italiano, i Marlene Kuntz, sulle scene da quasi cinque lustri e con nove album all’attivo (l’ultimo, “Canzoni per un figlio”, è uscito nel febbraio dell’anno scorso, mentre si attende entro il prossimo autunno un nuovo disco di inediti). Al centro dei riflettori il nucleo storico della band piemontese, Cristiano Godano (voce e chitarra), Riccardo Tesio (chitarra) e Luca Bergia (batteria), con Lagash al basso.

Poi, ancora musica, dopo la mezzanotte, nello spazio after show del Parco San Lorenzo, con il dj set del Blueroom Collective, progetto di base a Oristano.

Il programma di sabato

Parte dalle vie del centro storico di Bauladu, alle 18.30, anche il programma di sabato (13 luglio), con la parata itinerante dei Sugubambu, brass band sarda di sette elementi che mette insieme influenze musicali provenienti dalle musiche folk e tradizionali di tutto il mondo.

Alle 21.30 apre le danze sul palco centrale dell’anfiteatro l’energia dei cagliaritani Plasma Expander, ovvero Fabio Cerina alla chitarra, Corrado Loi al basso, samples e synth e Andrea Siddu alla batteria. Attivo dal 2005, il trio ha pubblicato lo scorso marzo il suo terzo album, “Cube”, che testimonia la maturità di un gruppo difficile da etichettare e che trova la sua migliore espressione dal vivo.

Energia pura è quanto promette anche il set di LNRipley, altra formazione che sa dare il meglio di sé sul palco, contaminando drum’n’bass e dubstep con punk, metal e musica elettronica. Velocità e pulsazioni da rave, un approccio lo-fi e deciso agli strumenti e un frontman trascinante, fanno dei live del quintetto in arrivo da Torino quanto di più lontano dal classico concerto: un flusso di adrenalina, tutta da ballare.

Spetta a un altro artista di origine sarda il compito di calare il sipario sul palco centrale del quinto ‘Du Festival: si tratta di Salmo, al secolo Maurizio Pisciottu, olbiese ma ormai di base a Milano, rapper giunto alla fama nazionale con il suo ultimo album “Midnite”, che una settimana dopo l’uscita, il 2 aprile, ha raggiunto il primo posto tra gli album più venduti in Italia. A testimoniare la sua fama anche gli oltre 26 milioni di visualizzazioni (dati dello scorso marzo) sul suo canale YouTube ufficiale. Ma è nel live, a contatto col pubblico, che Salmo trova la sua dimensione, grazie al suo originale approccio che conserva influenze del suo passato negli ambienti metal, punk-rock e hardcore.

L’ultimo appuntamento, per salutare il quinto ‘Du Festival è ancora una volta nello spazio after show con il dj set dei cagliaritani ARPxp e Maurs, una delle più importanti realtà della bass music, sia in ambito drum’n’bass che dubstep.

Ideata e realizzata dalla Consulta Giovani Bauladu e dalla cooperativa Vox Day di Cagliari, la quinta edizione del ‘DU Festival si avvale del contributo della Regione Autonoma della Sardegna (Assessorato della Pubblica Istruzione, Beni Culturali, Informazione, Spettacolo e Sport) e del Comune di Bauladu, con la collaborazione di Punto Oro, Famiglia Orro, Lollove Magazine, Associazione Carta Giovani, Ente Foreste della Sardegna, ASA Srl, Sustainable Happiness e Passaggio Sardegna.

Weekend full of music, in Bauladu: Friday and Saturday (July 12 and 13), in the village in the province of Oristano, halfway between Cagliari and Sassari, returns the ‘DU – Baulds Music Festival, one of the most awaited by the public youth in the panorama of the musical summer in Sardinia.

Now in his fifth goal of the event doubled, going from one to two intense evenings, with eleven sets to succession in three different times and in as many areas: the historical center of the town, “theater” unplugged performances scheduled at 18 30, the main stage, the main stage for the concerts of the band evening (from 21:30), set up municipal amphitheater, in the more than 12,000 square meters of green park of San Lorenzo, where it also finds its space after stage dedicated to dopoconcerto.

Marlene Kuntz, Psalm, Sick Tamburo and LNRipley are the protagonists coming across the sea, but there will be the right space for the music scene with Sardinian Raw Rave Groove, Plasma Expander, Beeside, Grandmother Safari, and Sugubambu with dj set of Blueroom Collective and ARPxp + Maurs, to compose a billboard varied genres and styles, sounds and atmospheres.

The program for Friday

The fifth edition of ‘DU – Baulds Music Festival kicks off on Friday (July 12) at 18.30 with a dual appointment in the extra internship in Gramsci. Opens Beeside, stage name of Frederick Pazzona, Sassari songwriter, born in 1980, who last year signed his recording debut with “Mood Spirals” for the independent label Seahorse: a project for voice and guitar that moves with freshness between songwriters and folk matrix of English. Since then the capital of Sardinia arrive Grandmother Safari, on stage in Baulds Cagliari 4 Booking thanks to the project, promoted by the Municipality of Cagliari to support new local musical talent. At 21.30 the spotlight on the main stage amphitheater Municipal: first to go on the main stage of the festival Oristano Raw Rave Groove, a quartet that starting from the sounds of blues and garage-punk of the early landed in a psychedelic rock made of long delays and reverbs.

With the second set comes alive in the evening, heated atmosphere dall’elettrizzante new-punk Sick Tamburo, one of the most original bands of the Italian: recovering from a decade-long militancy in Prozac, under its banner to recognize Gian Maria Accusani (aka Mr.Man, guitar and vocals) and Elizabeth Imelio (Boom Girl, vocals). Born in 2007, Sick Tamburo published for The Tempest discs the first self-titled album in 2009, followed in 2011 by the more melodic HELP, and, in 2012, from the EP My hand alone.

The last act of the opening night of the festival on the main stage called a formation of worship in the panorama of Italian indie rock, Marlene Kuntz, on the scene for nearly five decades and with nine albums under (the last one, “Songs for a son, “was released in February last year while you wait until next fall a new album of unreleased). It is up to another artist of Sardinian origin is responsible for the curtain down on the main stage of the fifth ‘Du Festival: This is Psalm, aka Maurizio Pisciottu, olbiese but now based in Milan, rapper came to national fame with his latest album “Midnite”, a week after the release, on April 2, has achieved the first place among the best-selling albums in Italy.
