BIOGRAFIA DR BOOST

Attivo dal 1999 quando insieme al Dub Producer King Kietu fonda il progetto “Tostoine” improntato su una miscela di Dub e musica tradizionale sarda. Nel 2000 esce il primo lavoro dei Tostoine intitolato “Dub in Bidda” a cui seguono numerosi live-set in giro per tutta la Sardegna tra cui l‘apertura di tutti i concerti isolani dei Kenze Neke. Nel 2002 esce l’album intitolato “tostoine” . Rispetto al primo lavoro qua la ricerca della tradizione è meno presente e viene invece dato più spazio agli elementi digitali e alla ricerca interiore per quanto riguarda i testi. Seguono concerti un po’ in tutta Italia e un tour in Svizzera. Nel 2004 esce “Agropastorale”, un cd-promo di stampo prevalentemente roots-dub che da una parte ridà linfa vitale ai due ma dall’altra decreta la fine del progetto Tostoine.

Dalla fine del 2004 Dr.Boost si dedica al reggae da solista e nel 2005 esce il primo singolo. La Big Tune s’intitola “GANJA NO-STRANA” ed esce in vinile su 7” per l’etichetta olbiese Big Island Family. G.N.S. è il primo prodotto reggae sardo su 7 pollici e riscuote grande successo in ambito italiano e internazionale . Nel 2006 esce il primo cd di Dr. Boost intitolato “LA MIA FAMIGLIA” un lavoro interamente realizzato su ritmi jamaicani ed europei con testi in sardo e in italiano. In L.M.F. i testi sono dedicati alla passione e l’amore per la cultura e la terra sarda. Ne vengono denunciati lo sfruttamento selvaggio e la distruzione dell’ambiente naturale e viene invece esaltato il calore della gente, i prodotti naturali, e l’amore per le rivoluzionarie reggae vibes che con i fratelli della Big Island Family si condividono da sempre. L’estate 2006 viene invitato a partecipare al ROTOTOM SUNSPLASH al fianco del selecta e dj radiofonico PIERTOSI nell’area dancehall. Nell’autunno del 2006 Dr.Boost inizia un tour italiano che lo vede toccare città importanti come Milano, Bologna, Modena, Lecce, Cagliari, Torino, Pisa e altre… . Nel marzo del 2007 un importante data in Olanda insieme al Big Island Sound, Herb-a-Lize it Sound e Ziggi. L’estate 2007 viene nuovamente invitato al ROTOTOM SUNSPLASH, questa volta nel MAIN STAGE, dove chiude la serata che contava la presenza Di alcuni tra i più importanti esponenti del reggae internazionale come PERFECT, FANTAN MOJAH ed ANTHONY B.
A Dicembre 2007 esce un nuovo riddim profotto dalla BIF intitolato SA GANA RIDDIM, suonato dalla band sassarese TRAIN TO ROOTS con la presenza dei cantanti ROOTSMAN I, SHAKAROOT e appunto DR.BOOST. Questo è il primo singolo di un nuovo lavoro discografico uscito a gennaio 2009. Il nuovo lavoro è tutto su ritmi originali di KING KIETU, vede la partecipazione di cantanti e musicisti sardi come ShakaRoot, RootsMan I, Gesuino Deiana (Cordas et Cannas), Tenore Santu Predu di Nuoro ed è interamente prodotto e distribuito dalla Big Island Family.

BIOGRAPHY DR BOOST

Active since 1999 when, together with Dub Producer Kietu King founded the project “Tostoine” imprinted on a mixture of Dub and traditional Sardinian music. In 2000 he released his first work of Tostoine titled “Dub Bidda” followed by numerous live-set around the whole of Sardinia, including the opening of all the concerts Islanders Kenze Neke. In 2002 the album titled “tostoine.” Compared to the first tradition of research work here is less present and instead gave more space to the digital elements and soul searching regarding the lyrics. The following concerts a bit ‘all over Italy and a tour in Switzerland. In 2004 he released “agro-pastoral”, a cd-promo-style mainly roots-dub on the one hand gives new lifeblood to the other two, but declares the end of the project Tostoine.

Since the end of 2004 Dr.Boost is dedicated to reggae as a soloist and in 2005 released their first single. The Big Tune entitled “GANJA-NO STRANGE” and comes out on vinyl 7 “for the label olbiese Big Island Family. G.N.S. is the first product of Sardinian reggae 7 inches and has great success in the Italian and international. In 2006 they released their first CD of Dr. Boost titled “MY FAMILY” a work made entirely of Jamaicans and European rhythms with lyrics in Sardinian and Italian. In L.M.F. the texts are dedicated to the passion and love for the culture and the land of Sardinia. We are denounced the savage exploitation and destruction of the natural environment and instead praised the warmth of the people, natural products, and love for the revolutionary reggae vibes that with the brothers of the Big Island Family is always shared. The summer of 2006 was invited to participate in the Rototom Sunsplash alongside and radio dj selecta PIERTOSI in dancehall. In the fall of 2006 Dr.Boost begins an Italian tour that saw him hit major cities such as Milan, Bologna, Modena, Lecce, Cagliari, Turin, Pisa and other … . In March 2007 an important date in the Netherlands along with the Big Island Sound, Herb-a-lize it Sound and Ziggi. The summer of 2007 is again invited to the Rototom Sunsplash, this time in the MAIN STAGE, which closes the evening that had the presence of some of the most important representatives of international reggae as PERFECT, Fantan Mojah and ANTHONY B.
In December 2007, he released a new riddim from profotto BIF entitled SA GANA RIDDIM, played by the band Sassari TRAIN TO ROOTS with the presence of the singers Rootsman I, SHAKAROOT and precisely DR.BOOST. This is the first single from the new album released in January 2009. The new work is all about original rhythms of KING KIETU, with the participation of singers and musicians such as Sardinian ShakaRoot, Rootsman I, Gesuino Deiana (Cordas et Cannas), Tenore Santu Predu of Nuoro and is entirely produced and distributed by Big Island Family.
